You can do it two ways.
1) You can perform a de facto name change. To do that, you only have to use your new name exclusively. After a certain amount of time, it will become your name of use (even if your legal name is different).
2) You can change your legal name. To do that, you must perform a de facto name change first. After that, you will need to file a petition for a name change at your local state courthouse and wait for a decision. A hearing may or may not be held, considering the request. If it is approved, you must announce the name change, usually in the announcement section of your local newspaper.

A judge has to sign off for you to change your name and I dont believe that any judge is idiot enough to let you do that.
