Illegal Immigration Facts
•There are an estimated 12 to 20 million illegal aliens currently residing in our country.
•All of the 9/11 hijackers were in the United States legally, having entered on temporary visas.
•California is home to at least 3.2 million of those illegal aliens.
•Illegal immigrants who take low-paying jobs don't pay enough in taxes, if they pay at all, to reimburse taxpayers the $5,000/per student annually cost of educating their children.
•Illegal immigration costs the taxpayers of California $10.5 billion a year for education, health care, and incarceration.
•Illegal aliens constitute 15 percent of our state’s school population.
•Between 1993 and 2003 60 California hospitals were forced to close from the financial burden of providing free health care for uninsured illegal aliens.
•Illegal immigrants who enroll in the University of California system are charged in-state tuition.
•Each year the Border Patrol makes more than a million apprehensions of persons unlawfully crossing U.S. borders to work and to receive public assistance, often with the aid of fraudulent documents. Such entry is a misdemeanor, and if repeated becomes punishable as a felony.
•Illegal aliens from Central America have been allowed to remain in the United States so long that their homelands have grown dependent on the billions of dollars a year they send home in remittances.
•300,000 people who have been ordered deported are still in the country because their deportation orders were not enforced.
•Census Bureau estimates say 115,000 people from terrorist-sponsoring Middle Eastern nations live in the United States illegally.
•Some illegal aliens from terrorist nations pay as much as $50,000 each to be smuggled into our country.
•Approximately one-third of all foreign-born U.S. residents are illegal aliens
•Over half of all Mexicans living in the United States are here illegally.
•In the last decade, 80 to 85 percent of the flow of Mexican immigrants has been illegal.
•A strategy of attrition through enforcement could reduce the illegal population by as many as 1.5 million illegal aliens each year. Currently about 183,000 illegal aliens per year depart without the intervention of immigration officials, according to DHS statistics.

I think that the 'mexican mayor of Los Angeles' is going to be in for a wild ride by the time this entire circus concludes...my feeling/assumption at this point is that a majority of americans are against illegal immigration, and that civic leaders would be well-served NOT to listen to those agitating for the hispanics and mexican supporters of illegal immigration.

I'm fundamentally against the idea of 'sanctuary cities'. We have 50 united states, governed by laws that stretch from coast to coast, I believe in case-by-case exceptions based on certain extenuating circumstances, but 'squatters rights' do not comprise such circumstances.

Illegal immigration is against the law, and instead of flaunting our immigration laws, if California wants to be 'progressive', they should be first in line with the enforcment. Now, I know that Hollywood-land is like, its' own little planet and stuff, but it's still part of the United States, so they can go ahead and follow the law like everyone else on this.

Mexico's got troubles, no one's disputing that. Nonetheless, allowing 1/3 of their population to evacuate to the United States will not solve those problems. Reform's a bear, but the citizens of Mexico with the REAL spunk are holding fast in the capitol to see the election through to its' finish. They WANT reforms, they're not running away from the problem. They understand that change begins at home, and that their country has the resources to support its' citizens, and that the only way to effect the long-term changes necessary to reform Mexico is for citizens to participate in the process. We have non-citizens in our cities agitating to recieve amnesty and free benefits.

We don't need this stupidity, we need a southern neighbor
that tries to get a handle on its' problems. Mexican people are not evil, but they still lack the unity to achieve what they need to support their population.

Also, this is a good time to mention that Mexico's not alone in sneaking its' people into the United States. There's illegal aliens from all over the world. There's 6.6 billion people in this world. What's our immigration policy going to be, here? Hmmm....

Roads are full of potholes already. They already are complaining approximately colleges being underfunded. 3. Yeah. yet curiously you adult adult males are pleased with giving extra 4. i think of they get plenty, its truly the spending thats uncontrolled. 5. I see a number of "immigrants" who come into my state who tension nice minivans, at the same time as extremely few tension products of crap. to no longer point out that they get particularly great gobs of money, loose college training, housing tips and a number of different foodstamps. I dont recognize why all of us does not basically provide up working and go on tips, then artwork under the table. The abuses I see for some welfare human beings incorporate, youthful women persons with diverse youngsters from diverse fathers getting 2 or 3 baby help tests alongside with housing, foodstamp allowances, TANF, equalling $40K a 12 months plus scientific, and that they are in a position to get help to flow to varsity too. Immigrants coming right here getting handed plenty, at the same time as people who're born in this u . s . do with or without little or no, or lose what little they get by using being some funds over the shrink. Social protection incapacity earners getting their social protection and dealing under the table. The abuses interior the device are rampant. particularly once you get to those that supposedly earn their living making $100s of hundreds according to 12 months doing little to no longer something like the Bell California criminals woking under 0.5 a 12 months for $800K to no longer point out the retirement those human beings get is downright criminal.
