I have my first day of highschool tomorrow and I was wondering if you had any advice...I don't know anybody in my homeroom but theres a bunch of girls my best friend knows that she says are really nice. Should I sit near them? Introduce myself? Any help is great! Thanks

Be yourself, have fun, you will get to know a lot of new people both good and not so great. This is a day that you will remember for the rest of your life, so make it as you would like to look back on it in 10 yrs.

Get to home room early and find a seat. Let the other people sit down next to you. Smile and acknowledge the girls your friend knows. If they are the friendly type, they will either sit next to you or invite you to sit near them. Maybe your friend could introduce you to them and help break the ice a little. Hopefully you will see some people you know in your lunch period. That was always the toughest part for me, but I went to a huge school (1500 students in my class alone)
Regardless of what happens, do not let the upperclassmen make you feel inferior. Everyone has their first day of high school. It will be much the same as it was when you first went to middle school. Stressful at first but eventually things will calm down. Plus you will make friends in all of your classes.
I'm guessing you are a little on the shy side? Just smile and be friendly and things will work themselves out. Good luck with school this year. I'm sure you will have lots of fun.

well im also going to be a freshman. But i have got a lot of advice. Like dont announce that you are a freshman... you wont get pick on as much. Try to make friends with the upperclassman too. They will help. Dont make enimies. If someone insults you just walk away, ignore them, or try to confuse them by saying something stupid like"i already had an apple today sorry"

try to meet as many people as you can. cliques form quickly, and people become friends really fast, since everyone is just meeting alot of new people. im a sophmore now, and if i could change anything i did last year, it would be make friends with more people. good luck...dont be nervous, you'll do fine!
