I would contact your local community college to see if they offer the classes need to be a nurse. You will also need your prerequites taken care of (just like high school - Social Studies, English, Science, Math, PE) so you might as well start working on those.

take all the pre-reqs at the community college..they usually have set "nursing" programs..
heres the program list for our CNA program at the college here:
CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA)
Acute Care Aide / Certified Home Health Aide / Restorative Aide / Health Unit Coordinator / EKG/Monitor Observer / Mentor Training
Series
Nurs 411 - Certified Nursing Assistant (8 weeks) - 7.5 units
This state approved program is the core class of the Nursing Assistant Series and a requirement for entrance into the VN Program. Certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory to work in a long-term care setting, and in most acute care hospitals. The certified nursing assistant is vital in the care of the elderly and the chronically ill and the need for CNAs is projected to increase as the population continues to age. Areas of physical care, communication, and psychosocial concerns are some of the areas covered. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be qualified to take the State Board examination (written and skills) to become a CNA. Offered spring and fall semesters, day and evening hours.
CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS FOR CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANTS
Nurs 414 - Acute Care Aide (5 weeks) 45 CEUs 4.5 units
Students must show proof of current CNA status (or be enrolled in Nurs 412). Training in the areas of surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, and medical floor will prepare the student for employment in an acute care setting. This course meets the state recommendations for the acute care training program, and is required by most acute care facilities for employment.
Nurs 416 - Certified Home Health Aide (2 weeks) 30 CEUs 3 units
Students must show proof of current CNA status. This course meets the state mandated course for certification as a home health aide (which is required by Home Health Agencies). The student will provide care for home-bound clients with disabilities, or during convalescence. Training in personal care, meal preparation, and assisting with medications are some of the areas covered.
Nurs 418 - Restorative Aide (5 weeks, 40 hours) 22 CEUs 2 units
Must show proof of current CNA status. Prepares the student to work under the direction of a licensed physical therapist or occupational therapist and with the licensed nursing staff to assist patients with exercise to improve or maintain mobility and independence in the patient.
Nurs 420 - Health Unit Coordinator (16 weeks) 22 CEUs 2 units
Must show proof of current CNA status. Student will develop broader understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, communication skills and learn to transcribe physician orders, ordering tests, and manage the nursing unit desk.
Nurs 422 - EKG/Monitor Observer
Must show proof of current CNA status. Students will receive training as monitor observers in areas such as critical care and emergency dept., where patients receive cardiac monitoring. The student will be able to recognize normal electrical patterns of the heart, and recognize life-threatening abnormal rhythms. Use of the cardiac monitor as a diagnostic and monitoring tool will be covered.
Nurs 424 - Mentor Training 8 CEUs 0.5 units
Open to health care providers who are interested in a position of training or mentoring new employees. Areas of leadership, communication, stress management, adult teaching strategies, and evaluation methods will be covered.
