Start by using certain shampoos for wanting straight hair. (shampoos dont always give you the straight hair you are looking for) When your hair is wet, take a round barrel brush and blowdry it while brushing it straight...
There are many products that you can get to improve your hair with your without a straightener! (balm, syrum) I have the same problem with my hair! Bedhead has really good products that will keep your hair smooth and keep the frizz out! I forget the name, but its in a tall lime green can/bottle!!! Using a straightener always gives your hair an extra nice sleek look to it!

well goodluck!

I have naturally wavy/curly/frizzy hair and I've always used a straightener, not been gutsy enough to use the shampoo..

Herbal Essences sells shampoo and conditioner that is supposed to make your hair straight. I've used it (I have wavy hair), and it works alright. My hair is short, though, so maybe that makes a difference.
