Do you mean..someone broke up with you 9 years ago and they want to come back? If so...how could you trust them this time? And if it is another kind of relationship...say a Dad that left 9 years ago...I say look at the whole situation. We need more info. to answer your question in a way that will do you the most good.

WOW! That's kind of cool. It's very interesting, actually. And no, I can't say that this has ever happened to me. I'm not sure if I would want it to with any of my ex boyfriends, except maybe my current interest.

My son's dad came back after probably that long. My son didn't want to have anything to do with him, but they did get close. Only for a while, though.

I'd say very rarely, if ever. You can legally, declare someone dead, after seven years missing. So nine, would seem impossible.
