A shadowing gallstone (Whatever that means) in my gall bladder. Gall stone is mobile. Gall bladder is not inflammed and I have no infection. But It hurts and I feel sick and weak and a little upset stomach. Whole abdoman area hurts and is bloated. Have appointment Friday for ref. to whatever Doc. (HMO's are a pain) What are the down sides of removeing your gall bladder?

have they checked for liver disease? usually when your gallstone is acting up, it might indicate liver disease....

i'd surely ask your doc about that since you are having other symptoms as well. (the abdomen pain, bloating, feeling sick and tired)

the downside of gallbladder removal is that you will have to eat a better diet, one that contains less fatty foods.

None....get that thing out! Several years ago I had mine removed. It was 5 times the normal size and completely impacted. The only problem I've had is digesting really rich foods like Alfredo sauce. Other than that it was the best thing I did. I suffered with it for quite a while. Don't do it. Get it out if that is what they recommend. It's simple, and you are home the next day. I took 2 weeks off (manditory from my Dr.) and was fine after that. Good luck!

No down side of removing gallstones!! The potential problem is that total anesthesia may give you problems! Discuss this with yr doc!
