I'm not a Jehovah's witness but I do believe that if the bible god exists, you are the only true followers of God. You are the only group of people who preach from door to door as Jesus comanded his followers to do and, really, all your teachings are biblical and...every other religion hates you guys which is also in the bible.
Anyway, here is my question, I have had a bible study by you guys and I have attended many times to the kingdom hall. But now I really feel like God does not really exist.
I see all the people suffering around the world, children dying in africa by the thousands daily, little girls sold as sex slaves in asia and just horrible things that when you think about it, life is not even worth it. Nothing is worth the torture and suffering that is happening now. For millenia humans have suffered and Jehovah God has allowed it. as if he has no compasion or feelings or has a lot of tolerance. He seems like a cold heartless God. Does God really exist?

I have decided to become and atheist, I don't want to worship a God that abandons his children, what parent would do that.
Besides, I don't want to live in paradise kowning that Jehovah has killed millions of people who BY their circumstances did not come to know him and worship him. Maybe because they were abused or something and their heart was not receptable to God.
I rather die than to have such a cold God.
Anyway, doesn's God seem cold to you guys?

Please let me share my experience with the JW; I married one and studied with them for over 1 1/2yrs. When I left my physically violent husband, the elder who had been counciling us on this issue, told me it was wrong to leave my husband(apparently until death-which I and our two sons were close to several times) My sister-in-law who was a great witness, was cast out from the church because she got pregnant out of wedlock (apparentely no one else in that Church sins...) A friend of mine, who had been a JW all her life, also left her violent husband and was not only kicked out of the Church for that, but her whole family turned on her and caused her children to turn on her. Now I ask you, with this in mind, do you really believe a Church should treat its members like this? Jesus says in the Bible that it is the sinner who needs the message and should be welcomed into the Church...and after all, we ALL are sinners...who of us can judge another?
Although many Churches do not preach door-to-door (which really just annoys people and turns them away from God by being "Bible thumpers") many Churches do encourage witnessing to others. My Church has gone thru a series on just that, which prefers we witness by example and thru our personal experiences. Please check out the Itunes podcast of City Bible Church and you can download for free the sermons from our Pastor, who is excellent, and always has an excellent and loving message.
Please know also, God crys whenever he sees these things happening too. And is always there for people when they do happen. But He allowed us free choice to worship Him, and unfortunately because of that free choice, some people make horrible choices which effects others. And then, believe it or not, and I speak from experience, the horrible things that have happened to me have eventually made me a stronger and more loving person. And now, because I found the love of God again (after the JW experience, I too felt like you do now) I can go out and help others, and especially identify with those whos problems I have personally experienced.
God does love all His children, EVERY SINGLE ONE, but He does cry when we make bad choices. He also promises us that one day all will be different. From the day I truely saw His love, I have changed wonderfully, and am eager to await the whole world under His love. May God bless you in your search, and please keep searching and please check out City Bible Church in the itunes podcasts.

It seems difficult to imagine that the questioner has actually studied with Jehovah's Witnesses, without understanding that this world's pain and suffering are clearly explained in the Scriptures as temporary. The current system of things is hurtful to Jehovah, and he will not tolerate it for long.

Even if one detail among the hundreds of thousands of details remains unclear, a truly humble person would feel as Peter did regarding Jesus Christ and true Christianity:
(John 6:68) Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life
(2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance
Is there any hope anywhere else? The Scriptures are plain regarding Jehovah's provisions for salvation:
(Deuteronomy 30:19-20) I have put life and death before you, the blessing and the malediction; and you must choose life in order that you may keep alive, you and your offspring, by loving Jehovah your God, by listening to his voice and by sticking to him; for he is your life and the length of your days

I really hope you read the different information that the Jehovah's Witnesses posted for you to read. Just for one moment consider this, we are all created in Jehovah's image with his qualities. Two of these dominate qualities are love and justice. The fact that you are pained by the things you see happening, indicates that you feel that sense of justice. Also, remember that a day with Jehovah is like a thousand years to us(2Peter 3:8). With this in mind, Adam and Eve sinned 6 days ago. The flood happened 4 days ago. Jesus died 2 days ago. Jehovah isn't going to allow Satan to cause us to suffer much longer. 2Peter 3:9 says "Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." It is hard to see the atrocities that we see happening daily, but Jehovah is not cold or heartless. That is a lie that Satan wants you to believe. If you choose to turn away from Jehovah because of lies that Satan has spread, and put the blame on Jehovah for all of the harm Satan has caused, then Satan has won. Proverbs 27:11. Make Jehovah's heart rejoice, not hurt.

I think it is amazing how the true witnesses have answered this question so perfectly. Isn't this a question which everybody asks? Why does God permit suffering and so on. You should request a "What does the Bible teach" Book, it will answer many of these questions simplely for you. However if you have learnt already yet you have chosen nit to accept it then this is your problem . Jehovah knows what you know and what you don't.
How long did youkeep up your study? There is so much you've yet to understand.
If you want to talk msg me

I think your whole question and then update sound pathetic... wow.. what a waste.. so 25 minutes after posting you just decided screw it all.. I'm just gung ho gonna be an atheist.. wow.. impressive..
I have a good friend who is a jw.. and you know what.. She's the best influence in my life.. she's a great person..
You're looking at the glass half empty.. better yet.. I don't think you even look at the glass as having anything in it..
You are obviously lost and need to just pick up your bible and find out for yourself who God is. .. instead of letting a group of ppl determine that for you.

Just imagine a life in misery as you described, without any hope for a happy ending. Be ready for the greatest idea in history:
After a life of misery, you will go to heaven! Something nice to look forward to.
The greatest religions , except perhaps Budhism, were born in periods of great human suffering. What a relief it is!
Imagine the Muslims without their religion. They wouldn't know what to do with themselves. Islam gave them something to think about while they vegetate in their deserts and ride their camels.
What else could they do?
The idea of God would be great if it did not evolve into religions that create hatred and divide the human race

Sorry, I am not a Jehovah's Witness, but I feel that God really does exist. Try going to a Catholic Church, perhaps you will find God there since that is the only church where the fullness of truth is offered.
