My dog who is about 17 weeks old, a staffy, has a great personality. I was wondering if other people have seen this.
She does everything, she sulks, she bullies and she can be the most loving when she wants to be.
I live by myself and wonder if anybody elses dog is like mine?

Yes, definately! I am the proud mom of 3 boston terriers, and an olde english bulldogge. My three terriers are Daisy, Boogie, and Boomer. Daisy is the laid back, easy going one who always knows when you are feeling down. Boogie is the 'bad ***' who thinks he is 10 feet tall and bulletproof. Boomer is the comedian of the family. And so hyper. Now Santana the olde english bulldogge, is almost human! She does so many amazing things, it just makes me wonder if there isn't a little person inside. I think all dogs have personality.

Scientists claim that dogs have no emotions and that we assign anthropomorphic equivalents to their actions. If the dog's ears are drooping and his tail is down, he must be "sad," or if his tail is wagging, he's "happy."

These are also the same folks that once believed the sun revolved around the earth, too. If my dogs don't have personality, then neither does anyone else. They get sad, they worry, they're happy, they're bored, etc. And no one will ever convince me otherwise.

Example: I worked search and rescue for 9 years as a K-9 handler, and any SAR handler can tell you that if the dog doesn't make a live find for several call outs, he gets depressed and can refuse to work. You actually have to do an exercise to let him find a live person instead of a body, or he often stops responding when ordered to search.

In theory, there's no reason why a dog should differentiate between a live find and a body -- it "should" be all the same to them because they're rewarded equally for locating either one. But I've seen the dog go into a slump time and time again. . .so much for the scientists!

I love staffys!!!!I have 2.Matembi is 9 months and Makosi is 9 months.( Different parents though). They are wonderful dogs. Some people nickname staffys the human dogs as it seems like they understand what you are saying.Staffys can be a hand full for the first 18 months,so don't do the same mistake as me and get another too quickly,l got mine three weeks apart. If l am doing the dishes, each one sits on my foot.if l am going to the toilet they both want to come.I am constantly tripping over them because they won't leave my sight for too long. But they are great with my children. It's like having an extra set of parents in the house. When my children get home from school, they are both there to greet them, when they are upset they are there, when my youngest goes to bed, they sit at his bedroom door until he falls asleep.I have had staffys all the way through my life, and will always continue too.

Yay!! Of course. Every animal is diffrent. According to a Christian Writer Watchman Nee - The spiritual man I have learned allot of things but mostly things I already knew inside somehow, it was merely comfirmation.....Did you know that a human have a Body , Soul (The Personality) & a Spirit. An Animal has a body and a Soul (Personality). Animals can not sin and do not have a free will. Humans sin all the time and have free will to decide whats right and wrong. God longs for a relationship with humans and have put the animals here for us to take care of and to enjoy.

Animals are very special, I adore animals and respect them deeply, i care for them and make an effort to understand them. I still stay objective tho but promise you that just like humans every animal will be different, from a chicken to a gorilla you will be surprized. I grew up a single chaild with many diffrent animals, watching them and playing with them, if you give them respect and you test them they will repsond diffrently....I hope you make great progress understanding your friend. take care.

Simply put - YES. The concept of a "Personality" is simply a misnomer, for what we're really talking about is one’s' INDIVIDUALITY. The universe itself is infinite; thus, all entities which exists within this eternal landscape posses the power of infinity and all its boundless glory within the very essence of their INDIVIDUAL beings. This being said, the multiple potentials of anyone's own "uniqueness" are limitless, and this stone cold FACT translates to any and all creatures of the universe, Be it the neighborhood dung Beatle or that bum on 32nd and Madison who eats 3 day old gyros from out the back of Giovanni’s, the fact is, NO two people are alike, no two animals are alike, and this is God's gift to all those who truly believe in the power of LOVE. Hope this helps!

Yes, pets do have personalities of their own. They may be of the same breed but all are different from the others. Some are more tempermental, some are mose social and some extremely loving. My friend had a pony and only liked him to ride him, I have two dogs (indoor) and they are both loving, and very competitive for my love and attention, the younger one sure knows he is the baby too.

Yep. All dogs have personalities, just not all of them have exciting ones. My 3 year old West Highland White Terrier has an amazing personality. He can be hyper, grouchy, playful, whiney, guarding, etc. He's just like a little person. He thinks hes a big dog :P

All dogs are unique unto themselves. Dogs moods change much like our own, and current research suggests that your dog adapts itself to your psychological makeup. Good luck with your Staffy!

Dogs definitely have personality. Their personality development is similar to that of humans, in that it is due to a combination of factors including environment and genetics.

Yes, every animal has a personality, other people may not be able to see it as they don't spend as much time with your pet since it is after all your pet
