Nicholas, if your son is old enough to go off to college, he's old enough to figure this out all by himself.
In fact, he would probably appreciate it if you would butt out and just let him deal with this, and any other problems that come up, just as 99% of other college students do.

Will his roommate be in the bathroom with him?
Is his 'college'..really prison?
We had a system in college where we warned everyone not to go in the bathroom so we could go in peace. Worked out just fine.
