I'd say about a day or two
But dont eat solid foods the first day each time you tighten them!
It was alot of pain to chew..for me atleast..may be different for you hopefully..
But Tylenol helps too!!
Good luck!!

The pain will last 3 - 4 days after all tightenings. It's gets easier as you go along. I've had braces for 18 months; I went this morning for an appointment and I'm already sore. You get used it. The end result makes all the pain and discomfort worth it. Hang in there! My braces come off October 30th!

The first time is usually the worst. I've been with this crap in my mouth for almost two years and I am like 3 months away from getting everything done. Did it hurt? It did. Is it worth it? Very much. A nice smile is prettier than nice hair. Rubber bands suck, but if you are already making the sacrifice, do whatever it takes.

The pain usually lasts for about three to four days depending on how dramatically the doctor tightens the braces. To help relieve some of the pain use some chloraseptic spray (about $6.00).

the pain will hurt for a few days. maybe 3. like the person above me said it really depends on the person and how much ur othidontist tightens them. the second time you might lose a day or so.

Expect to be sore for a day or two after each adjustment. Same goes for the rubber bands.
Take some Tylenol or Advil and chew some gum (sugarless).

I accually have braces and the first time you get them on they hurt like crazy. It really depends on how extreme your teeth move i.e. if you get a new bracket or something. Mostly the pain lasts for 3 or 4 days.

What I had my children do before they went into there apt,is I would give them some pain reliever before going to the apt, about an hour or two before we arrived, it seem to help.
