ok, I don't believe in the theory of a biblical rapture. It was a theory created in the 1840's by Reverend Darby. Can someone tell me, where in the bible it says all the christians are gonna be raptured. Please don't give me several verses from all over the bible. JUST ONE SINGLE VERSE.

The rapture is a fantasy belief to make everybody feel good, kind of like the false prosperity gospel. As some have stated it was started by Darby but Scofield was the one who brought it fame.

The rapture believers need to acknowledge that by their beliefs that there is a resurrection at the rapture, the dead in Christ rise first. That is a resurrection of the dead, now keep that in mind when reading rev. 20:1-6

The key verse to proving that there is no pre-trib rapture is Rev 20:4-6. In verse 4 John sees the people who were beheaded for not taking the mark of the beast, vs 5 tells us that this is the first resurrection and that the rest of the dead lived not til the 1000 years were finished. Did they see that, the first resurrection is after the Christians get their heads cut off for not taking the mark. That makes it impossible to have a resurrection (rapture) before the tribulation. Q: How come none of the preachers use this verse? A: It will show their deception.

Thessalonians 4: 16-17

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God's trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first,

then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.

The verses here are clear on such an event. The word "Rapture" means "caught up" would you preffer we just call it "they catching away"? To say it means anything other than what it says, you need to go find something men have said about it. So either believe The Bible that it will happen, or believe man that it wont. Your choice but you better be right if you choose man's word over the Bible.

FaithfulBibleMan has told you rightly. The big question is WHEN does this rapture occur. There is where the doctrinal disagreement occurs. The answers are found thought the entire Bible, but Revelation has much to say about the future. I do not subscribe to the Rapture Doctrine either. I believe most of Revelation takes place in ONE time period on the day of Judgement.

faithfulbibleman has the correct answer. I Thessalonians 4:17 is completely on point. There are others, but not as clear.

The term "caught up" in the verse is where we get the term "rapture." This is because the Latin Vulgate translated the Greek word "harpazo" into the Latin word "rapiemur." Both of these words have the idea of a violent snatching away, or capture.

i am christian.

dont mistake the rapture for the biblical rising of the dead.

in the revelation of st john, st john says that there were three ressurections. the first being the sea giving up the dead, the second being those from the grave and the third as those of the church who are still living and are brought to heaven.

while the rapture has been interpeted from these statements, there are many versions of it, depending on the teachings of the church one belongs to.

some in my own church (baptist) disagree whether the christians on earth at the time of the second coming will be swept away into the sky with Christ, or if they will suffer the seven years of suffering along with everybody else who did not make the grade.

Darby.
Rapture 1830 was formulated

The story goes that a woman was sick and delirious, Darby was at her bed side, she rambled and WA la the Rapture doctrine is formed. Spread like wild fire.

Don't you believe it!

There is a time at the END when Christ returns to earth the set up his kingdom that the faithful will be transfigured and rise to meet him and descend back to earth with him.
BUT the rapture says you will fly away from the anti-Christ with Christ to heaven. BS!!!!
We are here to be tested.

There is a verse that is quoted I think in 1 or 2 tim
but it is miss quoted for that purpose.

I will try to give an adequate answer in a brief space. The word, rapture, means to be caught up. The doctrinal concept comes from the physical catching up of the saints to be with the Lord. As such, the rapture is a fact clearly taught in the Bible. 1Thessalonians 4:17 states, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." As you can see, we will be caught up. There is definitely a rapture.

The word rapture is a transliteration of the greek word used in 1 Thessalonians 4 translated as caught up. The verse is
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. "
This verse actually seems pretty clear to me, hope it helps.

Sure. 1Thess 4:17 "then we, the living ones who remain (on the earth), shall simultaneously be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, and so always and forevermore be with the Lord."

The rapture is different that the second coming of Jesus. Note in this verse, believers meet the Lord "in the air". At the second coming, Jesus descends to earth and plants His foot on the Mount of Olives; two different occurrences.

The word rapture does not exist in the bible, I believe that the word came from the verse in reference to Jesus coming for his bride and in the original Hebrew word that was used in the actual way that we would collect his bride was translated to the word rapture kind of like "snatch up", I apologize for not having the appropriate verse to help you with at this time for lack of time today. good luck
