Here is what the Bible says about homosexuality. It doesn't matter if you are a leader or not. It's still a sin.

In Genesis 19:1-29 the cities of Sodom and Gommorah were destroyed because the people were so wicked. The men of the city wanted to have sex with other men. So God's judgement on the city was to destroy it by raining down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah.

Leviticus 18:22 (speaking to men in Israel) "Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable."

Leviticus 20:13 "If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

Romans 1:26-27 "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."

1 Corinthians 6:9 "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders...will inhereit the kingdom of God."

1 Corinthians 6:13 "The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body."

1 Timothy 1:8-10 "We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers."

Homosexuality is sinful in the sight of God. It is a breach of the law of chastity. God ordained that men and women should marry and bring forth children to be raised in His teachings. Any intimacy outside of marriage is contrary to God's laws. Therefore, if such behavior is found in one of the leaders that are supposedly setting the example for others to follow, then they are in the wrong and ought to be removed so that they can have a chance to repent. Christ would feel toward such as He felt toward the Pharisees that were white on the outside but inwardly were full of filth. He commanded them to cleanse the inner vessel first and then shall the whole vessel be clean. To do otherwise is to play the hypocrit.

Lev. 18:22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

If God tells us not to do this because it is an abomination. Why would he ok the church to have abominators in leadership?

Do you mean The Church? God doesn't approve of homosexuality amongst any of His children, especially not those in a position of leadership. Have you read about Sodom and Gomorrah? God feels it is an abomination.
