Is the Body of Christ inclusive to those who have died with those still in living bodies?

A sincere question.

Listen to what you are saying here. Does death separate us...
Jesus Christ defeated death on the cross.
There is no difference between Christians that are living in Jesus in the flesh and those that have proceeded us to Heaven. We are one body and Jesus Christ the Head.><>

All believers are the body of Christ...

To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord... is the Lord dead? No

If you beleive in Jesus, even tho your body dies, you will still live on in your spirit....

The dead are either sleeping until judgement and are unconscious of whats going on with the living, or they are already judged and in Heaven (those who will be judged unrighteous are asleep until the 2nd resurrection) In any event, those who have passed away do not have contact with the living.

Can they still be joined in Christ? - sure, I absolutely believe that families and friends can be eternal.

Are they temporarily physically separated by the mere fact that one is on one side of death and the other is on the other side - yep.

having been a christian for more than 30yrs, I've never heard anything like Cris is talking about...
All the bible indicates is in this phrase "absent in the body and present with the Lord"
This indicates that when we die we are taken immediately to be judged and either go into heaven or to hell.

death of our mortal form does separate us physically from those still among the living. that does not separate us, or the living from the Grace of God or Christ.

there are some unexplained circumstances wherein a spirit, ghost if you will, has made contact with the living, or vice-versa. i do believe that there is a method for speaking with the dead, and even (i think it was king saul) used a medium (witch) to call up the spirit of one of the prophets, for advice.

No.

There is the "Church Militant" which is us here on earth. There is the "Church Suffering" which are members of Christ's body enroute to Heaven, but not there just yet. And there is the "Church Triumphant" which is the members of the Church that have made it to Heaven.

One Jesus. One Head of the Church. One Body.

It is the very reason that we here on earth can pray to the Saints, which is merely communication not worship, and ask for them to pray for us as well.

As a Catholic, I can assure you-with no doubt, that death does not seperate anyone in the family of God!

From the early days of the Church, the belief of the "Communion of the Saints", is as real as today as it was then.

God bless ya.
