Here are some of my favoites:

Fried Mussles (the sauce is great)

INGREDIENTS:
As many mussels as needed
All purpose flour
Beaten egg

Dip mussels in flour, into the egg and then into the flour again. Fry in hot olive oil until golden brown. Serve with teratour sauce.
TERATOUR SAUCE (Tartar Sauce)
2 cloves of garlic, mashed
1 slice of bread without crust
2 tablespoons walnuts, filberts or almonds, ground very fine
2 Tablespoons vinegar
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
PREPARATION:
Soak the bread lightly in water and squeeze dry. Add the rest of the ingredients and with a fork, blend to a soft paste.

2 eggs [well beaten]
1 cup chopped Armenian or Italian parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint leaves [optional]

Shape into small rectangles about 3/4" by 1 1/2". Bake in a 250 degree oven on an UNGREASED cookie sheet. Cookies are done when the bottoms turn pink in color [35-45 mins.].

I love Armenian food but I cannot eat it anymore...when I was 16 I worked at a restraunt in Dearborn Michigan, it was Armenian and they served food "family style" and they would put the leftovers back into the warmers and reserved it. That grossed me out and I had to quit.

I hope you find some wonderful recipes though, do you have any older relatives you could ask to spend some time cooking with?
I hope so, they will be the best teachers.
