Its becuz big business which pays for the government and employs most of it's citizens needs to protect it's interests overseas. So we involve ourselves in diplomacy and efforts to please and win favors from other countries.There are U.S. citizens that live in the street for various reasons , choice, run aways, serious drug and mental problems, or they can't find jobs and are down on their luck. The government doesn't care about new Orleans , they'd like to spend as little $$$$ as they can . But they have limited means.Bush isn't the sharpest pencil in the box but good news is he can't get re-elected. DHS is filled with penny pinching pencil necked geeks.They don't give a rat's *** about you and will call you names straight to your face , its no wonder there are security guards in there . Its so the DHS workers don't get jacked too hard in the chin. Every body hates America becuz people in other countries watch our TV shows . Which generally portray fantasy fairy tale images of rich wealthy people who have pesky little problems like what kind of caviar are they going to have for dinner tonight. The people in the U.S. know the truth , hell most U.S . citizens hate America too or at least agree it has it's problems.

Well if no one likes us, then why do we have an illegal immigration problem? I mean, people are breaking the law to get here, so we must be doing SOMETHING right. Besides, I could not possibly care any less about what people think about this, the greatest nation on earth.

The result of everyone's "hate" against illegals. You reap what you sow. Don't hate, just look for an intelligent answer to the problem. Don't listen to the media, make your own research or listen to various sources of information. Many of the things you hear on T.V. are totally false. Full amnesty for selected illegals :D.
