I am looking for someone with either a kitten, or an adult cat, that they are giving away, preferably female, with medium to long white fur (NOT short hair) and sparse calico markings (marks on the head and tail, not too many marks on the back) preferably with yellow or green eyes, and preferably named Ally, Allie, etc...

THE reason why I am looking for a cat that looks like this is we already picked what we wanted to name it, and I haven't had a white cat in a REALLY long time. All I've had in recent years are black cats.

Hi Candra...consider trying to find your dream kitten on Craigslist. (http://www.craigslist.org). Select your state then city and look under the Community section for Pets. There you can look through all the ads people post for cats/kittens available for adoption. Many give them away for free.

A lot of ways to look for a cat.

Keep your eye out on the local newspapers for free kittens that fit the description.

Get on line and look on your local Freecycle Groups. Sometimes pets are given away there.
http://freecycle.org

Look on your local Craiglist
http://craiglist.org

Look for rescue groups in your area.
Local animal shelters sometimes take requests on line and call you when it comes in.

Look for rescue groups on line.like the SPCA or PAWS

There are Yahoo groups just for cats and dogs like
ArizonasPetCycle/

Put up notes on Freecycle Groups and Pet Groups on Yahoo.

Put up a note on your local bulletin boards.

Yes, that's right. I've been looking too.

definitely check with the local animal shelters...there are always cat adoption days in many pet stores....look into this website called petfinder.com....but when you go to a shelter, you should probably adopt the cat that will come to you instead of a cat that fits the description you have...

That's a tall order to get all those things exactly in one cat. Try your local shelter. So many sweet kitties there need homes, and so many are put down because they are unwanted.
