Hey guys,
This is actually a question my son wanted me to ask...he feels that as a guy he must stand his ground. The question is not meant to ask about men who hit women or to imply that a man has ever taken a strike at me... I have been blessed to have some very warm and loving relationships in which neither party hit or verbally abused the other. He isnt concerned with the striking of a women as much as he seems to believe that the only way a man can solve a disagreement with another is with punches.

Hello ~ V0nny ~,

I'm sorry but most guys don't resort to punches. You are picking the wrong kind of guys, or maybe it's the way that you treat the guys once you are in a relationship. I'm an old man and have had many, many relationships, and there is only one girl that I ever slapped in the heat of anger, and I've regretted that I did that for the rest of my life.

It made me think that any guy can do this if he's brought to that level, but that few women do this (thank God), but perhaps you do. Most guys can control their emotions even with the most bipolar girl. And there are many who have learned the art of walking away from a bad situation like this.

Maybe you need to re-evaluate the kind of guys that you are attracted to, and how you relate to them. It really takes two people to fight.

You should stay away from violent men, just as you should sometimes forgive and work out differences if a common ground is actually possible. What im trying to say, is Men are naturally aggressive and sometimes bottle it up to become more customer service oriented, whereas we may not even be, lol. Men have there manhood, where there are more value in some aspects such as pride, accomplishments, and all that others stuff that underlines "beer, cute girls, sports, trucks, and acting tuff". This is what we know as boys, this is what we do as men. Understanding the changing woman is the hardest task for a man today. Women are more business oriented, independent, and outspoken. This is weird, but actual gives a reality check to an average man. He thinks women are weaker and actual women are doing things he isn't. So i guess you may find him punching walls to eliminate the emotion and visually see he is a man...brutal and tough. When men hit women they usually are selfish, weak, and slow in the head(dumb). An educated man will argue you down just as the woman, thinking its more communicative. Dumb men get flooded and loose control although realizing later that was a wrong decision and sorry. Its hard staying in control as a man these days, lol. But having control makes you more of a man. Understanding others and their purpose (role) in your life will build relations to a more compatible and worthy one. Hope ya understand and good luck!

Where the hell are you hanging out, some dive bar? Guys don't always just start duking it out. It'll have to escalate pretty far in most cases. But if they do start swinging, it's usually a macho thing. A guy can't look like a chump in front of his friends/woman, even if the other guy is an Ultimate Fighting Champion. Sometimes, a guy just has to take an azzwhipping and like it!

Because those idiots don't have the brain power to talk things through. Not everything can be resolved with fists. A simple conversation to discuss the matter would go quicker and no one would be physically hurt, emotionally maybe, physically no. Maybe one day the majority of guys will talk things through instead of swing all the time

You are probably refering to guys that have had a bit too much to drink... or guys that are bigger in muscle capacity than their brains.

I am a Martial Artist and I only resort to violence if need be.... but like most people... I ask questions first!!!!!

As for being friends afterwards.. thats new to me.

By the way... I am 23... Sorry!!!

I would have to put a BIG vote on lack of maturity...Children (or mental children) are sometimes at a loss for words or other creative actions. I was trained to fight by a wise teacher and was told, above all else, to never use our craft offensively.
