I'd love to see corporate presidents and C.E.O.s doing a perp walk.if they stop hirering ,illegals got no reason to come here,

I agree there should be a punishment for hiring illegals, but in my state a drivers license can be gotten with any form of ID, a voters card with any drivers license. How do you tell the illegals? They look & speak (little or no english) just like the legals. It is illegal to check their social security card & before my husband caught the person - there was someone at his business that could get them SS# & drivers license in under 40 minutes. Completely valid looking & legally no way to verify. Now there is an advantage to rat each other out. They are down to 2 questionable employees from 23. If the Legislatures are going to make it easy to forge identities you can not punish the employers who are fooled by these identities. Making a law you make impossible to enforce is not fair.
For record the average employee with the forged documents made from $12-17 an hour. insurance - health, life , disability, sick leave, vacation, & personal leave. They were treated no different than other employees doing same job. No one lining their pockets just trying to hire employees willing to show up every day.

And if we're going to start holding companies responsible for following federal law, shouldn't we also do the same for our elected officials?

Maybe not a felony, but if they are going to exploit an illegal workers, because lets face it, people do it to not pay, etc, then those employers should have to hire an american citizen for each illegal they hire, and pay them all $15 per hour and give them health insurance, vacation pay, sick pay, etc.. THAT would put an end to that crap.
