The Pintor/Gomez fight was tremendous.

Great question Brent F! I saw both of these guys fight and it would have been a tremendous matchup. Neither ever ducked anyone and both fought really tough competition in their careers. Joltin Jeff Chandler was a boxer/puncher with a career record of 33-2-2 18 kayo's. Lupe Pintor was a tireless non stop fighter with good punching power too and had a career record of 56-14-2 42 kayo's. I believe this would have been an electric fight with both fighters inflicitng damage with a high volume of punches thrown. I believe there would be several shifts of momentum during this fight with Chandler winning by split decision.

To Santana D - When you say Pintor fought Cuaves (who the hell are you about?) Are you talking about Gomez? Are you talking about Cuevas (he was a welter wt)? Check/preview your answers before submitting them.
I can see why your opinions/answers are so messed up because you don't what you are talking about. You are slipping home boy, you should grab another hook/hold.

Pintor - W 56 (KO's 42) TF 72 - W pct 78% - KO pct 58% - wins over Zarate, A. Sandoval, J. Lujan and A. Davila - KO'ed by Gomez and 6 other average fighters
Pintor killed Johnny Owen in a bout.

Chandler - W 33 (KO's 18) TF 37 - W pct 89% - KO pct 49% - wins over J. Solis, J. Lujan, Muniz, G. Canizales and J. Carter - KO'ed by R. Sandoval (last fight)
He was known for jiggling his right hand after he delivering it.

In this bout, I take Chandler in a close 15 rd decision.

I agree with everything toughguy said except for the outcome. In my opinion Pintor was just way to durable of a fighter. I think he fought the tougher competition, when he fought Cuaves that was one of the best fights of the 80's. Chandler was tough he had great boxing ability and a sturdy chin but I think that Pintors body attack would be just a little too much for Jeff. This would have been a fantatic bout. Thanks for the great matchup .
