The worst thing is that he doesnt even know her name! He likes her just because he says she looks like a famous acress, but I like her way of being, the way she talks.. What should I do?

Just let your freind know that you are interested and if nothing was to go any further than a freindship then let your freind try and talk to her.

Dude, your friend is a jerk, i'm sorry but it is the truth. You supposed to like a girl for her personality, looks are just a bonus. Just make a move and ask her out. If she's a popular type and you aren't or your friend, don't worry about it.

He is your best friend. Let him know you like her two and make it a fair game:
Not telling things about the other
Not making the other one look bad
And to agree that no matter what you both will remain friends.

go for it and beat him to the punch. You snooze, you lose. If you end up not getting her, that's life and move on. But if you don't try, you'll spend the rest of your life wondering. Just be yourself and don't cry over what happens. Good luck.

if its going to be an issue between both of you guys-dont go for it. there are plenty of girls out there. if you perhaps see a future in this girl, let you best friend know how you feel and if he chooses otherwise than leave her alone. no girl/guy is worth losing your best friend for

the first one to speak up does not necesarily get the girl but it does help if you give it a try. It is ok to try to date her because she is not with him so you are not disrespecting him or anything and don't feel guilty. Try to get her to be interested in you and be yourself, please dont be a jerk, if she chooses him or another guy then let them try out in peace.

tell him you lost interest in her. he is just jealous of you and wants to make it difficult for you. tell him you found somone else
(but don't tell the girl that your interested in this) I'll bet if he sees that you are interested in another girl he'll be interested in her. it's worth a try. let the first girl know you are doing this if she really likes you and trust you.
