Yes, the Bible should be restricted to just adults. I think it's a form a child abuse to let them read it.

Yes throw away the bible, instead have you children watch the simpsons and all the cartoons on tv with violence. Then take them to school where they will learn new words such as F*ck you and other nice words kids learn at school.
The truth is the bible is the greates book any child can have. It is full of hope and love. The murders and slaughters you are talking about had to happen because humans rebel against God.
The bible will teach your children morals, and they will feel happy about been good and knowing that the creator of the universe loves them. Prayer is also good for children, it gives them fullfillment and confidence that the all mighty is on their side.

Murder, rape, and every kind of immorality and evil are done by man, not by God. His command to us is to obey. If we had obeyed God in the beginning, we would still be in paradise. We have made this word evil with our actions of disobedience. God tells us how to be good and pure but we do not want to listen. We would rather say that God is not real or God is bad. God punishes us severely because He has made Himself very clear about what He expects of us. Read the Bible. It says, if you do one thing you will live, if you do another, you will die. Choose life that you may live. Adam and Eve had the same choice that we have today, to obey God or not. It is our own disobedience that brings evil on us both as individuals and as nations. Only God can straighten it out. And He will. Jesus will return and He will rule over all the earth. And there will finally be peace. Man thinks that He can accomplish this without God. But the Bible is the whole story and it will soon come to a climatic conclusion. It is unfolding before our eyes. Many think that a one world religion that excludes Jesus as the one and only way to God is the answer. But Jesus is the answer. All of us have to decide who we stand with. Do we want a one world religion or do we want Jesus? I have chosen Jesus.

I am an artist, teacher, writer, musican and have read the bible since I was a child.
No.
I do not feel the bible should be restricted.
I don't think any real literature should have restrictions in the U.S.A.
Parents should supervise children's reading, listening and viewing materials.
The government should uphold the constititution
and allow freedom of conscience and speech.
Parents should do their job.
Office workers should do their job.
If we teach children to live responsibly and sensibly, with respect for others no matter how different they are,we would have a better society and need less laws!

This is why the have CHILDREN'S bibles. Kids don't need to read the harder stuff at a young age, so we do what has been done with the scriptures since they were first written down - we interpret them for the audience.
And calling the Bible evil? Not cool. Blaming all the problems in the world on those who read and follow the teachings of the bible? Extremely not cool. Don't tell me that you think all atheists are perfectly innocent? I know lots of atheists who are good and kind people, and I know some who aren't. Same with Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddists, Hindus, Pagans, Wiccans, etc.

It seems to me that you havent the the entire bible for you to be thinking that way about it. First and foremost, when you read the bible you cant just read one verse, you have to read the the entire chapter or preferabbly the entire book. Second of all is that satan wants you to have that ignorant mentallity to keep your soul. Third, the mayority of kids bibles are pictures with the most important stories in a way they can understand. None of the statements you wrote with the bible verses mean that. Read all three books with someone who does know about the bible and then judge.

I don't think that it should be restricted to adults, but I think what you are getting at is should parents guide their children closely when reading it. I would never allow my child to read a book like, 'Lord of the Flies' by herself, because there are serious topics that I would want to discuss with her, but I don't think that she shouldn't be denied reading it simply because it HAS serious issues within the text. Same thing with the bible. If you restrict something you close your mind and when you close your mind you become ignorant.

No, it shouldn't be banned to adults only. As someone else said, you need to be, however, mature enough to interpret it correctly. ESPECIALLY the Old Testament, because yes, God DID let a lot of things happen to the Israelites. They disobeyed him over and over and over again. Also parents are usually pretty picky about what they read to their kids. Usually, kids learn about the general stories, ie: Adam and Eve, Moses crossing the Red Sea, the Prodigal Son, Joseph's coat of many colours, Jonah and the whale, Noah and his ark, The Ten Commandments etc......Parents and Sunday School teachers don't often talk about the other things that children may not need to learn about just yet.
I think that its disgraceful for people to be so intolerant...

The mess the world is in started with the sexual revolution and the feminist movement....The moral degredation of western society can be followed like a road map from that point in time.
Religion like so many other things has continually been perverted by the human race as a whole....People of ambition have taken every virtue that mankind ever poccessed used them for self promotion, that is where most of your problem with religion and religion people comes from......
Please show us all one history that does not contain a multitude of dispicable acts..all perpetrated by man, against man....
then show me a history where GOD perpetrated those acts....
Hypocritical, disgraceful behavior..?? Sounds like the typecal American parent to involved with thier career to pay attention to whats happening in their childrens lives...
At night watching inappropriate content on the Boob tube with the kids.. and finding nothing worth whiled to watch settles for another program with a plot wrapped around sexual sub plots murder, rape, incest, and any number of rotten garbage......
I aquiese to your summation of the Biblical content......But I refuse to bend to your own hateful rhetoric about how we religious people raise our children....we at least steer them clear of your popular educated culture..Because we know for sure that it lacks any moral understanding..

well, first off....He's God....He created all things (including you) and He can do whatever He wishes........Matthew 5:29-30: God does not mean that literally....
Isaiah 13:15-18: don't take those verses out of context my friend.....chapter 13 is referring to Babylon...who had been rebellious of God....God gave them plenty of times to repent and change their ways....of which they did not....
Genesis 6:11-16 &7:11-24: again...Noah and his family were the only righteous bunch out of every human being on the face of the earth....after the earth was flooded, you also have to read that God sent a rainbow as a symbol that He would never flood the earth again
