I was flipping through channels last night when I came across this magician called David Blaine. Previously I had seen the guy try to hold his breath for 8 minutes or something like that...anyways, I started watching it but found some of his tricks creepy. Ex: levatation, mind reading, etc. I knew I should have turned if off but found myself fascinated as some of the stuff he could do. Not the mind reading but the card tricks. That got me thinking, is magic, like card tricks, bad for Christians? Thanks for the imput. BTW, how does the guy do taht? Is he possessed or something?

Revelation 21:8 says
"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death"
Sorcers are those who practice magic.
There are lots of other references to how God feels about magic and sorcery in the bible.
So yeah magic is bad. I would encourage you to read and study the bible for yourself!

No not at all those are tricks of slide of hand everyone know it. It's like a singer singing a song. Just because not every melody is a hyum doesn't make it bad. So entertainment is good for what it suppose to do entertain...Jim

He is simply an accomplished con-man. He uses an understanding of human nature to create optical illusions and deception. It is not true magic, it is simple tricks, slight of hand and physical discipline. There are many people on Earth that can do things that you can't; it doesn't make them magical.

one is one is not . magic such as david blain (or criss angel) is not, its all an illuison. witch craft is concederd bad in the bible. no hes not possesd its simply a trick (illuison) no one can mind read, theres sertain ways people can make you belive they can though. levatation is also another trick, infact i even kno a way to "levatat". dont worry its not a sin just enterament.

I'm a christian and i don't think card tricks are bad but i don't really agree with levetation stuff, it creeps me out also. could be that he doesn't believe in God and he does that to try and steal the glory of God
