I hate the Georgia department of Revenue. The people they have working there are not the brightest crayons in the box. I paid a balance owed from 2003 in full in February of this year. My husband had made a mistake in our taxes in 2003 and didn't we didn't catch it until we had them professionally done in 2005. Well, we paid the balance in full in February of 2006 and we paid it online through the Georgia Department of Revenue website. We got a certified letter in the mail Thursday and my husband picked it up from the post office Friday. Would you believe that the Georgia Department of Revenue send us a letter saying that they are going to garnish my husband wages if we don't pay??? We have been on the phone all day with the Georgia Department of Revenue and to no avail. Every time we got someone on the line, they transferred us to some other robot who didn't know his head from a hole in the ground. We don't know what else to do but to keep calling. They close at 4:30 daily

Follow the advice of QSG, then, file a lawsuit for wrongful harassment and prosecution..
GA is like other states with state income taxes, they think that they are as big as the Infernal Revenue Scum..

Can you appeal your case to a higher forum or to a court house?

Legal action may motivate these people to correct their mistakes.
