Most competent people will say no, but that is the real message that is being sent out in society. Take a look at many of the political and social issues and apply this mentality. "I feel good about it, I will do it."

Most people sacrifice their future [potential] happiness on the altar of immediate pleasure.

Proverbs 14:12 (KJV)
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

I think the message you are talking about is "this feels good now so send your money in for it" and don't worry about the consequences later (a cool new tech gadget that you can't afford, a fattening hamburger that you should not eat or a sweet-talking politician that really cannot be counted on...)

In terms of sales of products or message this is what you see. But people need to be smarter and know that rarely wat you hear is the truth and almost always what DOES NOT feel good and is the harder road is the correct road according to morals and healthy living.

Does this make sense? I don't think any mature adult (or even mature child -- some are actually very smart) would say this is true. Most know that drugs might feel great in the moment, but are not the right thing to put in your body. Having indiscriminate sex might also feel great, but is a terrible risk and quite an abuse on your body / psyche...

In some perverted way it felt good to Ted Bundy to kill all those women, and Hitler "felt good" when he had all the Jews slaughtered.
So the answer is no- Really the problem here- IMHO is not the feel good mentality it is rather the attitude of entitlement, the lack of accountability, and just sheer selfishness. Most everyone seems to say: me me me.
But this is to ba expected as Christ's return gets closer. It is said that in the end times the world will view right as wrong and wrong as right.

I am a little thick and confused here.

Are you saying that when I see my kids doing well and acheiving many things I can't feel good about it? I can't be proud of my children?
When my kids tell me they love me and I give them cuddles it makes me feel great........ is that wrong?
Loving my family makes me feel good and I won't stop doing it.

Eating chocolate on the other hand makes me feel really good but it is bad because there are repercussions.
I think if it feels good for everyone then it is ok, but if there is a chance that it may hurt or offend another then you should'nt do it.

Have I understood the question?

People who have been raised without a conscience, or without a consciousness of right and wrong may be easily be led to believe that if it feels good, it is good. Since Bibles were taken out of public schools back in the 50's, we have 2 generations who have grown up without a sense of what is good and what is not.

Is not that the kind of demagogy that attracts the young, ignorant and disillusioned. One of the major factors preventing people from acting intelligently is their impulsive thinking and behavior brought about by impatience. Sudden anger or desire shuts down the mind and pushes people to act without thinking. In the same way, such feelings as fear and irritation may prevent people from thinking logically and intelligently. People who do not live by the Qur'an's understanding of patience fall victim to such emotions for long periods of time and so become separated from intelligence.

“It may be that you hate something when it is good for you and it may be that you love something when it is bad for you. God knows and you do not know. Noble Qura’an:(Surat al-Baqara: 216)

just because it feels good now doesn't make it right.

something that you do to someone else might make you feel good, but the other person could be hurt by it.

also, what feels good now might make you feel like crap tomorrow, either physically or emotionally. alcholhol or drug consumption feels great at the time, but chances are you'll be suffering tomorrow. also, what about a one night stand? those are fun at the time, but most women feel trashy, slutty and used the next day.

Usually the things that feel good to me are the wrong things..

I always try to take risks by doing the things I want to do least and getting them out of the way and making myself stronger.

You must apply common sense to the things you do, the actions you take and the thoughts you act on. That old "If it feels good do it" adage is a lame way for others to excuse themselves and their behavior.

My advice?

If you are harming no one (including yourself, children, animals, etc.,) and you practice safe s** (if that is what you are asking about), and you are not lying to others or lying about your actions, and if you take responsibility when it goes sour, then alright. If it feels good do it. But if you are not prepared to pay for your f*** ups, then no do not do it!

no. it depends what feels good. some things can feel good but are wrong like murder or rape.

a lot of things that feel good have negative consequences because they are selfish acts. it is important to do things we feel good about and there are many. however, if we don't think before we do them, the good feeling might be shortlived.
