The "holy grail" is a concept that was invented in the Middle Ages. It makes a nice story, but that's all it is.
The "cup of the last supper" was not a specially designed golden chalice. It would most likely been made from clay and it was not given any importance whatsoever by the Christian church until the Crusades.
The "descendant of Jesus" theory is just a modern play on words. The idea sells books, but that was the whole point.

What holy grail? The bible doesn't tell us that there is a holy grail. Jesus and His Apostles were merely celebrating the Passover meal meal together and drank out of the normal cups provided at that time. So the cup was probably wooden or clay and is long gone. I feel that God would not have let it stay around because people would worship it instead of Jesus.

The story of the grail is a wonderful allegorical myth that has been retold in every religion and good piece of literature. Almost all good adventure stories where the protagonist has to find a "grail" follow the same set path of self-discovery and finding devotion (whether it's to a God, ideology, or knowledge).
Unfortunately, it is just a story retold throughout the years to teach a lesson - much like most Bible related stories. But hey, it worked so well that we're still rewriting and adding to the story in countless movies and books.

You know, no one cared about this object until about 1100 AD.. Hey Jesus did more in life than drink from a cup, he also say on a chair. He slept on a bed, wore sandals. What He did was far more important than any of these things. And what He did was to save mankind from Death and Hell....Jim

It was a task that an ancient British king set his knights on, so as to give his people hope. It was never real, but it kept the minds of the kings people busy with hope instead of whining about how crappy their lives were.

Jesus was a hoax. Therefore, there is no holy grail.

It was just a cup. Probably nothing fancy, probably made out of wood. I very much doubt it still exists.
