The Bible speaks of how there will be false teachers. People who pervert the Word of God, etc. so dont be suprised when you see things that are contrary to the Bible. The important thing to remember is that Christians are not perfect but they aspire (or should aspire) to be. The fact that man is imperfect does nothing to lessen the perfection of Christ Himself, nor should anyone let the acts of a man, any man, bishop or priest or otherwise, dictate whether YOU yourself with follow God. Their walk is not you walk and when judgment comes we will have to stand and account for ourselves. So we wont be able to say, "well Lord, I didnt follow you because such and so was a hypocrite". He's concerned with YOU...not anyone else. Amen?
God Bless you and keep you...

The lamp can never see its own shadow. Protestants came from the catholics, as the protestant movement began less than six hundred years ago and the Catholic church spans all the way back to the time of Christ.
EVERY PROTESTANT is indebted to the Catholic church. NO EXCEPTIONS, perhaps except some Eastern orders.
I am a Muslim, so you know I have no preference for either sect. I am being honest in what I am saying.
Irony from my perspective is the Catholics gave more weight to the words of the Apostles over and above the words of the Savior. Thus when Paul and Peter ordered that the Kosher laws are not needed, and circumcision is not needed and daily worship three times is not needed to apease the Romans, the Catholics adopted their system.
Catholic church also adopted many of the Roman customs which were pagan in nature, such as dedication of virgins, creation of statues of god etc.
THAT is why when Christ will come, he will tell to people who call him LORD LORD..... I do not know you!!. Most Christians except for unitarians perhaps have put Christ on the seat of the Jealous Lord. THAT is what will get people in trouble in my view.
After that the Lord alone knows and it is good to be humble and continue to explore the truth. When we KNOW that we have reached the fountain of truth, that is the end of our journey of seeking.
Darn now I have the Catholics and the Protestants thinking wrong of me..lol.

Gee, I'm Jewish and even I know that the Catholics were the first Christians. Catholicism was the only Christian religion for hundreds of years. It wasn't until the sixteenth century that the Protestant Reformation began. Oh, and the Bible you read today was translated and written down by King James of England -- a Protestant.

You are reported because you make an unjustified claim. You simply state that many Catholic practices are warned against int eh Bible, yet give no examples.

I'm Catholic. Could you please expand upon what you mean? None of our traditions go against what is in the bible. But I would be happy to answer your question. We are Christian and always have been. We were the first Christians. we are the only ones that can truly trace our founding from Jesus Christ. Protestants can trace their founding from alot later of a time period and from different people (Martin Luther- Lutherans, Joseph Smith- Mormons, John Wesley- Methodists, etc.)

in view that no individual so a ways has actual offered an answer i am going to target to: there are certain aspects of Catholicism that different Christians sense flow hostile to what the Bible says. The Bible says for one now to not make for your self a graven image. Catholics use an excellent type of statues of multiple Saints and Angels both of their homes and church homes, including effigies of Christ and the Virgin Mary. the different section many different Christians disagree with is that Catholics pray to Mary and different Saints really of on to God Himself even as soliciting for help. My understanding is that Mary and the Saints type of have an "in", in case you'll, to God and hence act as intermediaries for prayers. Intermediaries or not, many different Christians view this has breaking the commandment of having no different god formerly God, the conception being that in case you pray to it, you're worshiping it as a god. yet another situation is that many Catholic Saints, or former Saints, are in truth Pagan deities. St. Bridget of eire, no matter if She continues to be a Saint now or not, became and has continuously been a Celtic Goddess, She became "followed" through Catholicism to achieve converts contained in the early days of the Church. She is in ordinary words one get mutually that i understand of for particular. i'm particular there are extra motives, yet which could take someone extra knowledgeable than myself contained in the area of the position and how Catholicism differs from something else of Christianity.

I am a Catholic and I am a Christian. Nothing we do is against the Bible. A lot of people have misconceptions about us; if there's anything I can answer for you, I'd be glad to.
God bless.

Christians are anyone who follows a religion that believes Jesus Christ is God. So, Jehovah's Witnesses are not christians, Jews are not christians. Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans, Baptists, etc. are ALL christians.

Why is it so acceptable to hate Catholics? I don't think it's politically correct to hate on any other religions. What made everyone chose Catholicism? Are you perfect? Didn't Jesus say "Let those among you who is without sin cast the first stone?"

Truth be known, all modern "christians" are originated from catholicism. In fact when Christianity was made the major religion of the Roman empire Christianity was still in infancy. Thus was born the name roman catholic. In reality they were the first christian group who was a named force. So they call themselves christians because they are.
