I have Kaiser HMO in California through my employer and am not sure how to begin the process to see a therapist. How do I find out if my insurance covers therapist visits? Would I be restricted to only seeing Kaiser therapists?

Hey....it's great that you're ready to find a therapist. If you have an HMO, you will need to call the number on the back of the card and ask what your mental health benefits are. You should also request they send you a list of in-network mental health providers (ones who accept the insurance). From there, meet with a few until you find one that you are comfortable with.

Hope this helps! Best of luck. :)
