Eat 3 square meals, no snacking, no fatty foods. Plenty of regular exercise. It's the only way!

You've heard it all before diet and exercise. At your age you shouldn't be dieting, because you need all the vitamins you can get for your physical development, however considering your weight not dieting can give you blood pressure and diabetes even at your age.
Put about a Ts in a glass of water and take it about 15 minutes before your meal. It will help your insulin to work more effectively if you are getting insulin resistant ie if you're not quite diabetic but are in the prediabetic stages; it's also good for diabetics. If you don't like to exercise because it's boring, and all you can think of when it comes to exercise is running, walking, baseball, and basketball well there's a lot more out ther. I'd say get all you can and use each for a few minutes and you'll get an hour or more of exercise put in a day without getting bored. Get a jump rope, a mini trampoline, a hackey sack, skateboard (if you can't keep your balance, not a problem lie down on it and use your arms and legs or lift your feet up[ and only work your arms), get a basketball hoop (or if its to pricey reshape a wire clothes hanger and use it) throw any ball in it doesn't have to be a basketball, get a ping pong paddle and play against a wall in your house like people do with tennis you don't have to have a table...get creative.

At 13 you need to talk to your doctor before begining any plan that cuts calories.

You are still growing so it is really important that you discuss any plans with your doctor so you don't hurt any parts of your body that are still laying down structure, like puberty, or your bone health.

If you are concerned about your weight in the mean time a great way to stay healthy is to get active. Try to plan for at least 40 minutes of activity most days of the week. If you are already doing that, try uping your time.

If you want to make healthy changes to your diet try substitutions instead of white bread try wheat bread with at least 2 grams of fiber per slice. The fiber helps you stay fuller longer.

You might want to try starting each meal with a peice of fruit, vegtable, or salad. That way you may already be full of more healthy things, and want less of the more calorie dense meal being serve.

Other healthy solutions include nonfat dairy. Studies have shown that people who include at least 2 servings of low-fat dairy a day lose more fat when trying to lose weight. Plus calcium is essential for young women. It is especially important if you plan to become more active since calcium helps your muscles function properly.

If you want to gain a handle on what you have been eating it may help to keep a "food journal". It doesn't have to be fancy just buy a 99 cent "composition" book from the drug store and try writing down EVERYTHING that you eat during the day on a page, and date it. Try to be specific.

For example my daily food journal today:
1 1/2 c. Puffins cereal + 1 c. Milk
Single Serve Peach Cup
Stoufers Chicken/ Bazil Rigatoni TV Dinner
Non-Fat Yogurt
Salad Greens + Veggies + 2 tbsp lo-fat dressing
1 1/2 c. Hamburger helper
Frozen Fruit Bar

Try doing that for a week, and it might open your eyes to see what you are really eating. DO write down every bite you have. The nibble you have off someone else's plate still counts.

When you do go talk to the doctor about making a new plan for your health the food journal will be a very valuable tool to help the Doctor see you good habbits, and areas where you can use some help.

If you Doctor says it's okay think about Weight Watchers, It has really worked for me I have lost 33 pounds so far, I'm in week 16.

Good Luck!

Make sure to get a good 1 to 2 hours of exercise a day, eat more balanced meals, cut the sweets and stuff for special occasions even then just take small portions. Don't worry though your young so you should be able to lose the weight sooner, just make sure to get outside and play, if you have a dog walk it, if you have friends make a time to play with them(biking stuff like that), buy some things to play with, hula hoop, basketball, soccer, tennis balls and tennis racket, volleyball, frisbee, ask your parents to take you to the park twice a week things like that, dancing!! thats really good way to exercise(by yourself with friends too) and just running around outside or things like that, the key is to stay active. And eat plenty of fruit, veggies, water, and eat small portions at mealtimes. Dont snack late at night, stay away from sweets and stuff, do chores around the house if your bored, go bug your older sibs if you have any but just stay away from food when your bored cause that can really make your weight balloon quickly.....but put a smile on your face, make small changes in your daily life, and have fun being a teen or just young :)

i havent read the answers above me so im probably repeating, but here goes.
eat well, plenty of fruit and veg, and plenty of fibre ( weetabix, brown bread, brown rice etc..). try really hard not to snack on junk, if you are hungry eat a carrot or an apple, not crisps. chew your food properly, dont rush your meals. drink a small glass of water before you eat, this will make you feel a little full therefore you will eat less, and go less on the spuds and pies and stick with the greens. ALWAYS HAVE BREAKFAST, if you skip it you get hungry mid morning and binge on choc bars. always take a healthy option snack out with you, then if you feel peckish you cant have an excuse for going to the chippy. avoid fizzy drinks at all costs drink water or fruit juice. ALSO, you must exercise, it doesn't have to be strenuous, walk, ride a bike, skip, swim, if you take a bus walk up a couple of stops from your normal one, every little helps. Mainly, talk to your mum or guardian, tell them how you feel and ask them for help, ask whoever buys the groceries not to buy junk, if its not there you cant eat it, right. BUT you are young and still developing so make sure you have plenty of foods rich in calcium, iron, vitamin C, and minerals. MOST IMPORTANT, dont think thin, think healthy, and set yourself up for life. good luck to you. hope i helped.

By recognising that you need to lose some weight you are part way there. Do please take the advice of all the others here and watch the foods that you eat, start off with some gentle exercise ( brisk walking maybe?) and then as you lose weight take on more exercise. That way you should put less strain on your body and stay safe. Keep smiling, and all the best.

I know EXATLY how you feel. The key is to keep it fun. When I am at my friend's house we box. It is fun. If you have a specific friend or brother or sister buy some gloves and go or it. It's the most fun I've ever had and it is a WORKOUT. Also if you have a pet or younger sister or brother who loves to run around go outside and run around. It's very fun and it'll keep your pet and sibiling healthy. I'm 13 and am in the same situation you are girlfriend. Contact me if you need more tips or advice. Rock on Girl. Good Luck and God Bless!!!

Well.. first off don't be discouraged and applaud yourself for even caring... Get more physical as often as you can, short exercise workouts to start and gradually lengthen it, drink lots and lots of water, watch your calories, eat healthier food, and its said smaller portions more often is good if you feel hungry all the time... stick with it , its more of a lifestyle change than a diet... :)
Oh and try walking, it works to your advantage..
