Michigan...full time.
for many reasons:
it's not because of the size of the districts or how many teachers there are.
1. amount of learning expected for K has increased and they need more time
2. Many children did not attend preschool and needed the extra time to get caught up.
3. Parents wanted their children in school all day for babysitting issues, etc. with half day it became dfficult for them.
4. Bussing was very expensive and many districts could not afford the noon runs.

In Florida, not only do the kids go to full time kindergarten, but also have the option of starting pre-k when they're four years old a few days a week at the state's expense. I guess it helps them to be better prepared for the overwhelming full time kindergarten experience!

In KY, full time is most common. Part time does exist, but that's usually in private school. Public school, the majority of Kindergarteners go full day.

When I was in Kindergarten it was part time (either morning or afternoon) but the year after (when I was in first grade) it went to full time (thats for public school and most private schools)

I live in northeast Arkansas. My daughter goes to kindergarten from 7:30 to 2:30. I don't know of any schools in my area that goes part time.

I'm in northern California and part-time kindergarten is what we do here. Don't send your child full time. It is much too long a day for them. They will not learn any more than children who go full time. They just need a few hours a day to develop social skills, emotional skills, academic skills, and a positive attitude toward school. Chidlren who go to kindergarten full time become burnt out much faster than children who go part time.

North Carolina- At least in Western NC, the children have all day kindergarten, although the teachers and staff are very lenient about early dismissals...

In Union,MO , kindergarten is now full time. I'm pretty sure it is that way all over Missouri except for maybe private schools.
