Yes there are eggs in mayonnaise. Whole eggs and egg yolks are use as an emulsifier which stabilizes liquids (ie: water and oil are some examples)
Mayo is made up of primarily oil and eggs with seasoning and ground mustard (another emulsifier).
Store bought Mayo's include preservatives and very in taste with the amount of vinegar used.
You can make your own in small batches and season to your own tastes. If you do use a non flavored canola. If you want add just a little olive oil for some flavor.
Also use pasteurized eggs for safety.

FYI Mayo was invented by a french chef in 1756
Hope this helps you.

Most mayo has eggs, here are a couple you can make without
6 ounces tofu, drained or pressed if desired
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar
2 tablespoons oil
1/2 teaspoon salt, or 2 teaspoons shoyu, or 1 tablespoon red miso
Dash of pepper
Method
Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree for about 30 seconds, or until smooth. Or mash all ingredients and allow to stand for 15 to 30 minutes before serving.
Vegan Mayo
Ingredients
8oz regular soft tofu (patted as dry as possible) 2 tablespoon of vinegar (rice or cider) 1-2 tablespoon vegan sugar (brown or turbinado) 1-2 teaspoon salt 1-2 tablespoon water 2-3 tablespoon oil
Procedure
Blend all ingredients except oil. While the mixture is still churning, slowly pour the oil in through the top of the blender. Use your discretion when adding ingredients. Less for thicker mayonaise, more for thinner. The thinner, runnier stuff works great for fake tuna salad or potato salad.

Yes, there are eggs. That is why you can substitute mayonaise for eggs in baking recipes. :) Its a hefty little trick..unless you are allergic to both.

Yes there are eggs in mayo. I am allergic to eggs but I can eat mayo. I just can't eat plain egg. If it's cooked in something then I am usually ok.
