I personally think that it is duscusting what parents do to their little girls (and boys) to enter them into the beauty pagent. They dress them up in clothes that are way too mature for them and put all this make up on them to the point that they don't even look like little children anymore. And them people wonder why they get murdered.

I agree with you.

I know parents love their children and think they are doing something good for them, but they really are not.

These kids do not get the chance to live a normal life and be a child. They really did not have a choice in what is being done to them and as they get older it is nearly brainwashed into them that it is something they wanted to do.

The exploitation is horrific, a prime example is that poor little darling JonBenet, she was paraded across the stage like a grown woman. And the results of this exploitation, well she was violently taken from this world long before her time.

It is a bitter lesson for any parent and although I feel it is wrong and they need to share in part of the guilt for the tragedy, I am also heartbroken for her family. More so for her mother who will never see the person or persons who did this to her child come to justice.

Kids need to be kids... they are pushed and shoved and made to act like adults when they are clearly not ready for it. Let them live their lives as they should be able to, to enjoy it and have fun and play with other kids and to worry about the adult portion of life when they are of age to comprehend it all.

Well,i wouldnt go as far as to say they are discusting but they are inappropriate as a child is being taught that they have to be a certain way to "win" in life. You have to let them grow, childrten arent finished growing and dont get the full concept of pagents.Once they get older it is what leads to anorexia, bulemia, and other eating disorders because they are told they have to be a certain way.You do have a point with the maturity issue tho. They do make them look a whole lot more mature than they are, they make them look that way and then once those children get older they feel they are that way when they are just teens. This results in unexpected pregnancies,std's,etc..because it is teaching them they are older so they feel they can do mature things and make adult decisions. Also,in some cases it can lead to them being murdered,it also can lead to stalking and sexual abuse.Parents dont realise they are harming their children and their childrens minds when they really are. They feel they are doing something positive, but it really has a negative effect on them.

ok, you are acting like there have been a million beauty pageant kids that were murdered. just because you hear about jonbenet so much doesn't mean that she is more than one girl. What about all of the kids that do gymnastics that have been murdered? are you gonna want to bann gymnastics too? i am i see what you are saying about dressing them up, but when you threw in the murder part, that is where you lost me.

But little girls love to play dress up, and they love attention. As long as there parents don't take it too far it isn't disgusting at all. It is just a little girl feeling like a princess. They know that that isnt something to wear on an average day, it is something that you wear for fun.

I will show you some pictures so that you know what i mean. In this, the parents didn't go overboard on the outfit. It looks like a simple little girls dress up outfit that they would play princess in. The crown is cute and little kiddish. The make up is a little heavy, but little girls like to be made over. they know it isn't real. The part that bugs me about this picture it that they are making it look like the girl is in it for the money, and she shouldn't be. It should be for HER fun.

now this disturbs me. There faces are so drentched in make up that they look like barbie dolls. And it doesn' even show their real beauty because everything is fake. I dont even think it is pretty.

I think they are the worst message you can send to a child.Which the message you are giving them is you will never be anything in this world unless you are beautiful on the outside and you are not beautiful because you need makeup and a fake tan and fake teeth.Thats the dumbest thing parents could ever do.

As a former child that participated in beauty pageants and child fashion shows, I think they are perfectly fine, as long as the parent knows when and where to draw the line and is not forcing their child into the pagents as well as still allowing them to have a childhood. The pageants were demanding, I do remember that but when I didnt want to do another one I didnt have to. That is where most parents go wrong.

I think so too. Kids should be kids, but here they are, with a huge responsibility that's forced on them by their parents. And some parents are crazy about it that they make their kids practice every day, while their kids are probably not having fun at all.

definite, he would be teased for it, particularly between center college and intense college. while i grew to become into in HS, I worked with a guy named BJ, we used to offer him a sparkling call for those letters a week, and the obtrusive one have been given used as quickly as each few months. Bionic Jewels grew to become into yet another one. i think of somebody used Butt job as quickly as. I commit it to memory fondly because of the fact BJ had consistently been a jerk. although, looking back, it would desire to be because of the fact his father and mom named him BJ.
