i have surgery on tuesday, tomorrow.. early in the morning for a fibroid on my uterus. im supposed to be drinking 4 liters of this stuff to cleanse my system, but every time i try and drink it i throw up. any suggestions? should i just take a laxative instead?

i know it's gross, but the doctors office is closed and i don't want to call this an "emergency", but wtf do i do!!!!!??

ok, so i can add stuff to the liquid? i have about 4 liters to go, i drank 2 cups successfully.. supposed to drink a cup every 10 minutes. yay. i'll just have to do it and stop being a baby i guess. i'll get what i can down! *shrug*

as for having to get the surgery, yeah the fibroid is about the size of a cantelope right now... and it's coming out. i've been waiting for months for this surgery that's why i'm kinda freakin.

Call the pharmacist and ask for help. He can contact the doctor for a medication that will settle your stomach.

It is not gross. Been there!

How long have you had the fibroid? Have you gotten a 2nd opinion by a different dr at a different office? If you are sure that the surgery is necessary then you have to get the medication down if you are unsure than cancel and get the 2nd opinion. You might talk to a Chiropractor about adjustments for your problem and if this is a Cyst they may be able to adjust you so that it will pop. If your sure then hold your nose when you drink most of the vomit reflex comes from the sense of smell first. if you can't smell it then the bad taste is not so bad. Goood luck to you.

Drink it with a straw! The reason your throwing the liquid up is probably because of the foul taste. But the straw to the back of your mouth and suck. This will eliminate the amount of fluid running among your taste buds. Just try it! If it doesn't work call your pharmacist

Relax ---- go to a hospital or call them and explain whats happening . After all they can post phone it if you require more attention or better . I would stop and do the most practical thing .But don't panic. Remember people can help you even if you can't take what they have given you to drink . Good luck .

Better call the the emergency number anyway. If you don't take the stuff they might have to reschedule your surgery.
If it is what I think it is they have it in pill form but you have to take like 30 pills at a time.

stop being a baby and just drink it one sip at a time. if you can hold it down for 5 mins you will be fine. its just the taste thats making you vomit. try pinching your nose. and man the heck up. i would personally chug it every ten mins. if you dont flush your system and go into surgery you could get infected and die

Milk of Magnesia will help. I took that instead of that huge jug of stuff. Just pinch your nose before swallowing, it helps. Good luck with your surgery!

if you are just throwing it up then you might want to take laxatives or call the dr's office and see if they answer.
