Care to share the best single event kind of story that a parent did for you when growing up? Not general stuff like cared, and made me do homework, but something that was a one time thing.
One day I woke up to find an entire new Barbie doll wardrobe on the twin bed next to me. She couldn't sleep and sewed them in the night. That still stays with me.

I thought I was pregnant right after I graduated high school, my mom took me to the doc because I said I was sick and I told her there that I might be. She was shocked but excited...I couldn't understand why, I thought she would be mad (because I wasn't married) She said she was disappointed, but excited to be a grandma. I wasn't preg and still haven't had kids and have been married for 6 years.
It always stuck out to me that she didn't get mad or yell at me or something, she was still supportive eventhough it wasn't a great situation. I love my Mom!!

My mother abducted me out of a Scottish hospital once where I was forced to stay another week. I had been under treatment for weeks already and under severe medication. I was six years old. The nurses there were very cruel, they hit me and let me lie in my own poo to see whether the medication worked while strapped down and forbid my mother to take me home. The doctor had to agree first and he would only return after a weeks time. My mother rapped me in towels and smuggled me out of the hospital during visiting hours.
Now, that's a true mother fighting for her son

Well, the best thing my parents ever did was slip up one day. I told them I had recorded their conversation with me, and had told a social worker about their abuse. They responded with snide remarks which hurt like hell, but the social worker had been on the other end of a wireless microphone outside. Now I'm safe and happy with a new family. :D
