Jesus was supposed to die on the cross as a gift from God. He was crucified as a sacrifice that all who believe in Him would have eternal life in Heaven. Our sins on Earth are forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ. It was the will of God for Jesus to make that sacrifice. It is God's most precious gift to humankind. And you are right when you say there was no reason to kill Him. That is the irony of it all.

The truth is what the Koran says - they didn't crucify Christ. He wasn't a nuisance either, he was a great Prophet of Allah's. They (the Jews) tried to crucify him bcs they tried to kill all the Prophets sent by God. (Who killed John the Baptist and Zachariah?). The message of the Prophets did not please the Jews. Jesus' message was no exception - preaching about love and understanding to an inhumane world! How preposterous!

well..that's the whole point in a nutshell i guess. no one found a real Fault in Jesus, enough to kill him at any rate. even Pontius Pilate said he washed his hands, it was not his fault that the people forced him to crucify Jesus.
He didn't do anything wrong...that was the saddest part. He was a Willing Sacrifice...and now we know thru the bible, that He knew what He was doing. He came here on earth to fulfill this purpose of dying for our sins. the way i see it is, human beings are like that. they are cruel, unsympathetic, scared, afraid of different things. He died so that there could be Hope that we would Change...His death was so that we could look back and see that we've crucified an innocent being, our God. and He STILL forgives us!! it is enough to be thankful and rejoice in His mercy, to TRY to live our lives differently, different from those who tried to crucify Him. we have to live our lives as best we can, as Positive, Happy, Wonderful, Honest, Righteous, and Awesome as possible...all due to understanding and acknowledgeing, and finally Accepting His Sacrifice as payment for our debts. past, present and future.
it needed to be this way..it was the ONLY way to cleanse us of our shortcomings, of our sins, of our mistakes, of our weaknesses...thru Jesus' blood we are clean. we are purified. it's already been done. that is how u can pick urself up each day and Start Over, make tomorrow better, regardless of ur past mistakes....
read Romans 5-8..it really opened my eyes to what Jesus' death means to me. always learn, seek knowledge, seek what is Good and what makes sense to you..never use it to look down on others or think better of urself.. always use it to learn more and become stronger, better, positive person. :) do not judge those who don't believe, and don't judge others who do believe but don't act a certain way. in the end, it is what u make of this life and of your thankfulness of Jesus' sacrifice that will help you understand life's purpose~~ :)

I think that the underlying reason Jesus was turned over to the Romans for death and ultimately crucified was that he intimidated people. He preached a tough message to follow, and that bugged some religious authorities. Others were worried that his followers would start some sort of military revolt, which would have pissed off the Romans and potentially made them decide not to allows the Jews to have their religious freedom anymore.

It was God's plan for Jesus to be crucified by those who thought He spoke blasphemy. No one had power over Jesus, but God. God gave those who crucified Him the power to do so. God made Jesus His "relative" - not man.

It is pretty hard to explain here, as space is limited, but in a nutshell, so to speak, I'll try. Of course, Jesus was not guilty of crime or sin. He came to earth (God incarnate) for the purpose of giving His life as a sacrifice, as the Lamb of God, to pay the price for our sins so that we may be saved. For the death of Christ was the ransom price for our redemption. A propitiation for our sins through His blood. So that we may be reconciled to God through the blood of His Son on the cross, bearing our sins and paying our penalty willingly as in John 10:17,18 tells us. For further information, a Pastor of any large Christian church should be able to visit with you on this subject more fully. May God bless you.

yes, what the people did to Him was wrong.....but he had to sacrifice himself for our behalf......We each should have been up there on that cross....but Christ was the ULTIMATE sacrifice....and He's not really "God's relative" as you put it....Jesus Christ IS God....He's a part of the Trinity....three in one.....God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit

In Jesus dwells ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Col.2:9 below) -
oGod the Father
oThe Holy Spirit of God the Father
oThe Word of God the Father
The only begotten son of God the Father (Jn.1:14 below), Jesus (the Word - Jn.1:1, Jn.1:14 below), His beloved Son (Matt.3:17 below), was conceived of the Holy Ghost (Matt.1:20 below).
It is God the Father who conceived in Mary (blessed among women) His very Word through His very Holy Spirit (Matt.1:20 below).
Col.2:9 For in him dwelleth ALL the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Jn.1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, (Matt.1:20, Matt.3:17 below)) full of grace and truth.
Jn.1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (Re.1:6, Lk.1:47 below).
Re.1:6And hath made us kings and priests unto God (Jn.1:1 above) AND his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Lk.1:47And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour (Jn.1:14, Jn.1:1, Re.1:6 above).
Lk.1:68 Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
Matt.3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son (Matt.1:20 below), in whom I am well pleased.
Matt.1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost (Jn.1:14, Matt.3:17 above).
