Last week I woke up with a pain in my right knee. It's still kind of swollen and it hurts to walk up stairs. It pops and creaks when I bend it and when I'm going up stairs. I can't see an ortho doctor until the middle of next month. Any ideas about what could have caused this? It came out of no where! Any good ways to ease the pain and swelling? I'm afraid to get back on the treadmill until I know for sure what's going on. Thanks so much :0)

dont aggravate it with exercise . sounds like you injured it somehow , prolly an partial tear of the medial collatoral ligament . use both ice and heat . ice reduces swelling , heat promotes healing. wear a brace to keep it straight and stay off it . see doctors asap to schedule surgery.
