have the person request the transcript from the college and have it sent directly to you from the college.

The most accurate way is to request a copy of the person's transcripts directly from the college or university. Diplomas can be forged.

On the transcripts it states when you graduated.

Call the school. Tell them the person's name, ss# and the reason you need the verification.
