Cats are one of the most intelligent animals on earth (Roughly around dolphin and chimps) and can genrally appriciate music just like humans. Bear in mind that cats , just like humans, have different tastes. I have a cat that LOVES AFI and will genrally sit and listen, while another will promtly leave the room. Experiment to find what makes your cat happiest.

Yes, most enjoy music. Some like music you can dance to and some like music that is soothing. Test different kinds of music on your cat to find out what it prefers.
