Do you have a heart murmur? That can cause irregular heart beats. I have had one since I was born but the doctors have told me that it is not a problem. But I have heard in some cases that it can turn into something worse if it doesn't go away. If there isn't any pain when it skips you should be ok, but there are other test you can get besides an ekg, just not sure the name of it, talk to a doctor that will listen it's better to be safe than sorry

I have that happen all the time. I too have had ekg's done and they say my heart is perfectly normal. I don't know what to do about it either. Sometimes though, it can be affected by stress, caffeine. I notice that it's worse on days where I've had WAY too much caffeine, and it's especially bad when I've been stressed out for a long period of time. It helps though if you lay on your left side...something about it helps the blood flow or something..but that does really help.

Heartbeats, the unexplained phenomena, will remain the unexplained phenomena for the next hundred years or so. I had a rheumatic heart, and speaking of missing heartbeats, a million of 'em. It is God's wish the heart should go on, as long as He Wishes so. I think, with so much passage of time, nothing much has happened, while pain killers are number one heart stoppers, they destroy the rhythm of the heart, and should only be taken if essential as there are 40 kinds of headaches, aspirin does not work on each 40! doctors know best, machine know nothing, it is mind over matter. Develop will and will power and leave the rest to God, The Creator and The Taker. Nobody dies one second before He Wishes. Thanks. I hope the sermon was not too long. Mind you I have broken every rule in the book concerning heart care, but do need prayers for my heart from time to time. anjum

See if you can get them to let you wear a portable heart monitor. You'll wear it for a few days, and then they will analyze all the output. Sometimes this is the best way to diagnose certain types of heart conditions. An EKG while you are sitting in the ER or doctors office does not work for all conditions.

MSG causes that with me. Also, watch your caffeine intake and any other stimulant.
