I love God,& try to follow his word, but sometimes I get so tired of other people. At times, I feel so beat down by the things people say about God&Jesus that it just bewilders me. I see&hear it everywhere. Theres always a challenge to prove myself&my beliefs. I realize Christianity has a bad rap because of some people that go around judging others& condemning them to hell, which is NOT what God wants. Yes this is wrong, but why apply what some do, to the group as a whole? I know my job is to mission, but gosh, some things in the Bible, I don't have an answer for, yet I believe it. I feel bad when I don't have an answer for the questions people ask& when saying "I have faith" isn't enough for them. Then, some people will make a comment about God, that's deliberately vicious, but what can I do? Nothing. For instance, this question will probably be ridiculed, just for being posted. I accept that people have different thoughts&beliefs, but why can't they accept mine in return?

Thank you to everyone that responded! I appreciate all the feedback. I would like to add that I am not just talking about what I see&read on Yahoo Answers. This bothers me, but not terribly so, because I do realize that the internet gives people from all religions, colors,&walks of life, the opportunity to connect&voice opinions. Although I am bothered by some things I view here in regards to God, I do realize that people are going to say what they have to say, and I try no to take anything I read too seriously, because as one of you stated, a lot of times they say things purely for shock value. I was referring more to the people i've met, and the acquaintances i've come across. But yes, you're right, the battle is not mine it is the Lords.

Judy r8: I read what you wrote, &I would like to say that perhaps my wording was wrong. Maybe i'm not a missionary, but I am a witness, and I am supposed to tell others about the word of God. You don't need a degree to do that.

You don't say where you are in your Spiritual Walk or maturity with Jesus. Are you a new Christian, or have you been a Christian for years, and just haven't learned to witness or how to handle discouragement.

Christians no matter how mature, face discouragement and disappointment everyday in some form or another. Just because you are a Christian doesn't mean everything will be wonderful all of the time.

If you are struggling with these problems, talk to your Pastor or get yourself an Accountability Partner in your church. This is someone who can pray with you, encourage you, listen to you and keep you on track when everything seems hard.

If you are having a problem witnessing, or you are not good about sharing your testimony, just pray to GOD to show you how to be an example to others with your own life and actions.

There are several good books in Christian book stores and online that can help you with witnessing and sharing your testimony.

This happens to me all the time. Sometimes all I can do is cry, and then pray. It never says that it would be easy being a christian. Look at all the disciples they all died horrible deaths and were constantly ridiculed for the faith they had in Christ. Read Mathew again. Jesus says that many will be persecuted for my name. And you will be blessed. All you can do is stay strong in your faith, and sow the seeds, hopefully they will grow. Sometimes I don't even waste my time with them, I know the truth. It is so easy to judge, we all do it at times, and sometimes it is necessary, The bible says to judge according to the bible, and the truth. We all have a long battle ahead of us, this will only get worse. More is to come...in Mathew 24 Jesus says these are just the birth pains....

Samuel 20:15 (Whole Chapter)
treat my family with this faithful love, even when the LORD destroys all your enemies."

2 Samuel 22:26 (Whole Chapter)
"To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.

May God be with you and keep you safe. I will soon see you in Paradise. Keep being strong. And yes.....We are all tired.

Sure, we all get tired. But there is a point where we shake the dust off our feet and move on. Offer up the plan of Salvation and if that person isnt interested, move on. Pray for them and maybe someday they'll remember and become interested. As far as not having all the answers is concerned, dont worry about it, no-one has them all. You can be honest and say "Personally Im not sure but we could look for the answer together?" Remember Paul started ministry knowing only about Christ Crucified.... He learned as he went along as we all do.

People also make the assumption that Christians WANT them to go to Hell or that they have to change their lives completely before coming to Jesus, or that we think they deserve worse than us. These are myths you could just help dispell if anything. Just remember something very important, no-one can swallow anything that is shoved down their throat, they choke on it and spit it out. Give them small peices that they can chew on and digest easily ;)

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "change his mind". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

I understand exactly where you're coming from. Last year I talked to my coach about God because he didn't believe and he would ask questions I didn't know the answers to and he would say "see what I mean?" and stuff like that and he tried to get me to doubt but I held on the my faith in God. But I felt the same but now I know what my problem was, I wasn't reading the bible like I should've. Now I got a study Bible and it helped a lot. I know way more things now and I feel I'm better prepared if that situation comes up again with anybody. We as Christians need to put on the whole armor of God and put the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God to good use. People have problems with believing in something they can't see. They want you to show them God's real and it's hard for them to believe in miracles because it's not logical. Also they don't want to submit to God because they would have to follow His rules and they would have to cut the fun stuff they like to do out like having sex before marriage and gossiping, etc. So don't get down hearted when people attack your faith, hold strong to it. The devil is trying to get as many people to go down with him as he can so he will cloud people's mind with different thoughts as to why God isn't real and other things like that. The devil also wants to get us off track too, so he will send people to put doubt in your mind, make you feel bad because people are laughing at you because of your faith, etc. You just got to keep pressing toward the mark. God will renew your strength. You are doing the right thing when you share your faith God wants us to do that. Some people will accept it some will reject it. As long as you're are doing what God told you to do don't worry about it. When you talk to those who don't believe or what have you, you are planting a seed somewhere down the line someone else will water the seed you planted. That's what God said in His Word. I hope that I have helped you. God Bless You! And if you want to know some good study Bibles the one I use is the Ryrie Study Bible, my mom has a Nelson Study Bible. The Ryrie is simpler than the Nelson. The Nelson is more exhaustive it has a lot of information the pages be packed. But both are good though.

You're ceratinly not alone.
I see you're also correct about the responses herein.
There will always be those that ridicule. It'll just get worse.

1Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Matthew 5
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Hang in there. You're doing His work.

Yes, Christians are getting a very bad rap. I continue to be very careful about who I am addressing: true Christians or fundie wackos - it usually is not hard to tell the difference. I probably shouldn't be answering your question since I am not a Christian, but this battle always interests me. I don't find your position or your post ridiculous. People come into this forum to express their beliefs in the religious section and those beliefs are always going to clash. Arguments and nasty commentary will always ensue, people are rarely fair about others' religion or lack thereof. My advice, (yes as a non-Christian I am giving you advice lol) is to develop thicker skin or you will end up being extremely distressed for no reason by internet users who you will never meet and who often misrepresent who they really are. Good luck to you.

The Holy Bible contains the truth about God. It should be used as a reference book and not to be taken literally when it comes to interpretations. It has a lot of parables and God's teachings. We as christians are supposed to spread the word of God. Sometimes, you might encounter persecutions and disbeliefs. We all should not be judgmental and be more tolerant of the differences in people; their customs and traditions, their religions and beliefs. Faith based on facts and knowledge is better than total blindness. In this aspect some christians interpret the Bible to suit their belief. Sometimes, we have a lot of unanswered questions. We should seek the guidance from the experts.

For the same reason beleivers cannot accept and leave alone those that do not beleive.

In Tampa Florida, at a City Council meeting, a council member walked out when an Atheist was given the chance to say an invocation. Her response: "I shouldnt have to sit here and listen to someone tell me what I should or shouldnt beleive!" But every day, that Atheist sits there and listens to the morning prayer....so much for equality in America....

You and your beliefs will not be accepted by everyone - that's a part of life. Jesus reminded us that He was persecuted and hated long before we were. If we can remember that Jesus endured great pain and suffering for our benefit, we will be able to push through the verbal abuse we often receive. It is our job to believe in the Lord, to know the Word of the Lord, to live the Word of the Lord, and to share the Word of the Lord. If we can do this, we will receive a great reward from our Father in heaven.
