The morning after pill simply prevents the egg (if fertilized) from sticking and developing into an embryo. It is not the same as an abortion and perfectly safe. I believe that making it available over the counter will help prevent alot of unwanted pregnancies.

Women have miscarriages all of the time--more often than even they know about since many miscarriages will present as an unusual period. This is no different. Many pregnancies go on for a while and then miscarry after the egg implants is not viable. Other implantation problems result in what's much closer to an abortion such as a tubal pregnancy. This is preventing a pregnancy from happening, not aborting an implanted egg or developed fetus.

Also know as "the morning after pill" or "Plan B"
it is not in any form a way of abortion...i dont know why so many people think of it as such...
the morning after pill is a pill that is to be taken after the first 72 hours after having unprotected sex...all this pill does is, in simple terms, is kill all sperm that has entered a womans body to prevent pregnancy.
This pill does not always work specially if you wait too long to take it
so there is a chace of you getting pregnant anyway...i did.

No I dont believe in the day after pill. It is an abortion and that is not right. You make the choice to play so you should not deal with your personal choice and end a life of the innocent that had no choice in the matter of what you are doing. You can adopt out if you chose not to keep it but dont punish the innocent because you dont know how to take precautions

The morning after pill increases the level of progesterone in your body to tell your body not to release the egg, if your body has already released the egg it tells it not to implant.
The "abortion pill" causes your body to begin menstration, which if you are pregnant will cause a miscarriage.
Forgive my simplistic terms, but it seemed better to answer in language that made sense to the average teenager.

The "Morning after pill" is NOT an abortion pill if you have already concived it will not abort the baby its like the birth control pill but with more medicine so if you arent preg. it will help prevent it but if you are already it will not stop it!

Yes I believe in it. No its not like abortion because you take it before any test can even determine if there was any sperm/egg contact. No pregnancy test can tell if you are pregnant until (at least) 7 days after wards.

It will not cause a miscarriage if the egg is already implanted in the uterus. That is why it needs to be used within 72 hours of possible conception.

I don't believe in it. I do, however, believe that if you're so terrified of getting pregnant, you should use TWO forms of birth control (condoms and the pill, for example).
