Okay, I am curious now. On Yahoo answers when there is questions involving the bible, certain people keep saying that the bible is a fictional book written by a man or men. Well, maybe these people know something that we christians do not & have this information stashed away as they seem so certain of their information. So, I want 2 know too. Cant be a fool forever. So prove that the bible is fictional & not inspired by God using cold ,hard facts. And to those who is going to say that the reason is because God isnt real. Then prove that God is not real. Clear, concise, factual, logical reasons that can stand up in a court. I want answers that if I was God himself, I would believe that I cannot be real & I had nothing 2 do with the bible.

To all those who ask for proof of God & the bible, I will just say that reasons for belief in a religion are not based on logic. Logic & fact are tangible, scientific entities. We base our belief on faith. Any christian can tell u how God has manifested himself 2 them. The testimonies are endless. But God seldom do so 2 the non-believer so they will never understand what the christian is talking about & will therefore say that he is lying. Our belief is based on the spiritual level.
The nonbeliever's however is based on logic & science.
So, as I said. Convince me that the bible is false & God not real using this logic & fact.

The nonbeliever's however is based on logic & science...(touch), which can be explained.
So, as I said. Convince me that the bible is false & God not real using this logic & fact. Give me that undeniable, unarguable proof that no christian can refute that will make me know that what I believe is false.

Oops...sorry about the repeats. Sorry guys, but science is finding proof that there was a global flood around the time the bible said it happened.
swbarnes2, please let me know how the creation story is false. Prove it. Email me if u like.
Leif B, never have I read in the bible that God said that the bible is true. I didnt even know that the bible was compiled then.
AK89, you are so not with it.1) Wikipedia is not the utmost authority on everything. 2)there are many animals that became extinct in the last 3000yrs. 3)God is not man. He provided food for the isralites in a desert. Why can he not provide food for thge ark? 4)There is evidence of a global flood around the time the bible said according 2 scientists. 5)Do your geography & of course an ark can be built but not boats.(logic). The bible never said that Adam & Eve were the 1st people on earth. Read Genesis1 & 2 for yourself.
Jeff the drunk, I just ask a question.Thts wht this forum is for. Having fun & interacting.

The bible is much to inconsistent and contradicts itself way too often for me to believe it was inspired by any god. If that were the case, wouldn't he make sure it all fit together? Not to mention the fact that it is scientifically impossible for two people to mate and create an entire species, there was never a world wide flood and even if there was, Noah's ark would have to have been larger than the continental United States to hold two of every animal on the planet, Jesus was one of many so called "Prophets" in his time, all of which could do "miracles," and as far as I know, no conclusive evidence of any of the events in the bible has ever been found. Not one thing that every scientist and historian can look at and say "Well, that proved that it's real."

THANK YOU!!!! Finally someone with half a brain who actually admits there are other possiblities. You've restored my faith in humanity.
You want cold hard facts?
1.It is a fact that hell is fictional. It was written to persuade people to convert and live under the rule of the church. Check out wikipedia's articles on hell, sheol, and geheena. I would also strongly suggest www.what-the-hell-is-hell.com.
2. The bible includes mention of a behemoth, which was a mythical greek moster.
I don't have the actual facts and sources to prove the next few, but they deserve attention.
1. It is logistically impossible to sail around the world with 2 of every single animal on earth. The food requirements would be enormous, and he could never take care of managing the waste by himself.
2. There is no evidence of a flood, no erosion, nothing. There is not enough water on the planet to flood it all.
3. If one family came off the ark, how did their descendents reach america? The Bering Land Bridge had long since melted.
4. If Adam and Eve had only two sons, how did they reproduce?
5. How can God go from killing all non-believers in one passage to love thy neighbor in the next?
The bible is wrought with problems. Most people simply ignore them or write them off as the work of the devil. I hope you decide to actually investigate before you pass judgement. If you need any information feel free to PM me.

ok, heres an idea. consider that the bible was a handwritten document written from the scribbled notes of barely literate if at all people. now these people (I'm assuming) didn't carry around a notebook with them to make sure they quoted God or Jesus verbatim. Combined with the senstionalistic version people tend to use when telling good stories and now you have a book of exaggerations and distorted views of actual events. Now, after this fact, over the course of the last couple thousand years, the bible has been translated, retranslated, interpreted again and again into the modern version which we know now, of which there are hundreds. The proof is in trying to determine how much, if any, is actual fact.

How in the world do you know if he's real or not you have no proof. Bible is just men written what do men know any way they got the balls us women got the brains. Have you seen him personaly to say he's real it could just be your amagination if you did. I believe in recarnation. This God how is he real if you never met him if no one really met him then they can't say they know him can they. The old days could of been all made up about all this. Some people were bored and decided oh interesting let's make up a god woohoo. Most of these books are fiction. Why do they say santa is real, or the tooth fairy, or the easter bunny, or those little elfs, and etc. If those are not real and they are a legend clear back in the days why should we believe in god if he's made up just like all these legends.

The logic lies in the equal validity of other theistic belief systems. We now call the ancient Greek religion mythology, but during ancient times they actually believed in Zeus, Athena, and all the other Gods/Goddesses. All the stories of their Gods were passed down through oral history. Many creation myths have similarities with the Christian creation myth.
Every story in the Bible was also oral history, eventually put to paper. They were God inspired, but the same was once said about the Greek Myths. And even if their words were God inspired, wouldn't it stand to reason that men are imperfect and make mistakes?
I'm not trying to trash your beliefs, but this is these are my own rationalities, and you did ask for them.

Did you ever stop to consider what the 'King James' part meant? If i were you i'd just do some simple research. Type in King James. It will or should tell you that he was a man that rewrote the bible.
I don't discourage any helpful belief of any kind. But believing something blindly is foolish.
Hope that was of some help. I'm not gonna say Gods real. Nor am I going to say that he isn't.
You have to learn to respect the beliefs of others my dear even when it grates on your better nerves.

I do believe the Bible is the word of God. However, I also know that not all of it is factual. Even Jesus used fictional stories (parables) to tell the Truth. There is a huge difference between facts and Truth. I believe men and women are inspired every day to write the words that God has placed in their hearts. There are many books and writings of all spiritual paths that show this.

It's logically impossible to prove a negative. The burden of proof is on the one making the positive claim. Until you provide some evidence that the bible is inspired by god, and that god exists, there's no reason to take the idea seriously.

No, why dont you prove to me that it is not at all fictional. It is not us who need to prove it is fiction, it is you who needs to prove that it is true.
I believe, yet I dont question it. However, as a believer, I doubt the faith of anyone who proclaims publicly that it is th truth, thump their bible, yell and scream about hell and damnation, fire and brimstone, God this, Jesus that, he is the truth, blah blah blah....
I have an idea, why dont you believe what you believe in, and the rest of us will believe what we believe in. It is not up to you to become an evangelical, and proclaim the gospel.
Maybe you need to read the Book of Matthew Chapter 5 and 6, especially:
Matthew 5:39
"But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person."
Matthew 6:5
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full."
