why can't Christians realize that they still have to keep out of public affairs? EVEN IF they are completely correct, freedom of religion requires that this country not endorse any religion above another, or above non-faith, as well as not discriminate against any one belief. Christians, if you enjoy more privliges, such as "God" on the money, "God" in the pledge, "God" in the president, "God" in courthouses, that is un-American. Why doesn't that "click" for you?

I guess I have to mention that EVEN IF the founding fathers were Christian, it still doesn't make favortism okay. Plus, many of them were very against religion in government, that's why there is a specific law about it. Check out some of the founding fathers ACTUAL, SURPRISING viewpoints:

Some of the founding fathers may have wanted a complete separation between church and state, but they were not the majority. If they represented the majority view, then answer me one question. Why did the very same people who wrote the First Amendment (the one that guaranties freedom of religion) also create the offices of House and Senate Chaplain (one for each house)? Why would those who wanted a separation of Church and State have created such overtly religious offices within the government?

Besides, as much as you may want to try to deny it, Atheism is as much of a religion as any other. So, by trying to force all other religions out of public discourse you are just trying to force your religion off onto the rest of us. In other words, you are doing precisely that of which you accuse others. This makes you no better than those who you accuse of trying to force their religion onto you.

Democracy is rule by the masses. We elect representatives. They represent us. That means they vote how we want them to as a majority. If the majority wants God to be OK for everyone, then God is OK for everyone. If the majority wants pink poodles to be illegal, then pink poodles are illegal. So, whatever the majority wants is what the majority gets, in a democracy. The founders wanted to make sure that something like the Church of England wouldn't happen here, hence the 'establishment clause'. The 1st amendment doesn't give atheists freedom from religion, just gives all of the ability to choose, or not. Now, if you can look at nature and not see an intelligence behind the design, well, that's something I can't understand.

What "freedom of religion" means today is not what it meant when the Constitution was being written, as it is written all over American History that people in those days killed people for practicing other religions. I'm in no way condoning that, but the founding fathers idea of freedom of religion was that the king (King James at the time) could not dictate how they read the Bible or worshiped God (specifically the God of the Bible)

Now as you say, even if it's TRUE.... lets read it and assume it is ALL TRUE just for a moment, does it look remotely like God doesnt care who we worship and that He shouldnt be made public?

Seriously, you can't reason with them and they are getting worse, the closer they think they are getting to the "end times." It's as if their pride is rising, and they think their Jesus is going to show up and vindicate them.....

It is sad, I can't even talk to my own mom anymore...She is a radical fundie and thinks I'm following the devil...She went to the prophetess ladies at her church and it was confirmed by them that I am proud, controlling and on the wrong path....There is no way to reason with her as I have tried for 14 years....After the prophesy thing against me, I had to say, "mom, have a good life; I can't do this anymore." I can't help her...

Now, the thing for us to do, is unite to encourage Democrats to vote....I believe that there are many 18-24 year-olds that don't vote because they are sick of the political system and it allows the right wingers to dominate....That is the only peaceful solution that I can think of, and we don't want to let the moral majority make us angry or we are just like them......How about this slogan, "Vote Democrat and peacefully destroy a Republican."

We need a nation-wide campaign and get it to the left, so we can change our social climate.

Freedom of religion is a man-made law,not God's law.
Our country was founded in the name of God,and for this reason,we,as a nation, have been mightily blessed with an abundance that that no other nation can supercede. And we,as a nation, have turned our backs on God,even after everything He has done for us. Is it any wonder why things are the way they are here in America, that we are,as a nation, falling apart? Why doesn't that click for you?

As you factor out, there are a number of Biblical and theological problems with accepting Evolution (G.T.E.), alongside with the demise earlier sin subject. i assume its right down to "authority". Do you have self belief that the Bible is God's be conscious and as a result "Inerrant and certainty". Or do you have faith human beings alongside with Darwin, Dawkins, Cox who're/have been Evolutionists and Athiests. the two Biblical history befell or organic history befell. the two won't be able to be genuine on the comparable time. II Peter ch3 additionally prophesies the problem and is an exciting study; the rejection of the international flood, rejection of creation of stars, and uniformitarianism (in all probability). in my opinion I have faith the words of Jesus as he's the co-writer of each and everything.

It says, "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

We haven't established a religion, & we certainly haven't prohibited anyone from practicing one that doesn't break the law.

What's the problem again?

Don't like it? Move!
