The best breed of dog to own when you have allergies is a cockapoo. Like poodles they don't shed their fur like most dogs,they are a small dog, easy to train,obedient,loving and faithful but they have a better temperment than a poodle and most of all they are known for not bothering your allergies.

I have a Havanese And she is a delight. She will get no bigger than 12 pounds. She does not shed And she has hair not fur like many other dogs so she is good for people with allergies. There are many dog breeds like this, go to www.akc.org and check them all out. Good luck !

Poodles, bichon are the most common small dogs for allergy sufferers. Good Luck. I'm getting a wheaten terrier!

I have 2 little dogs that are half miniature dachshund and half chihuahua and they are adorable. My mother has a dog called a Havanese, and he is adorable. They actually have real hair instead of fur, so there is no shedding whatsoever. They are the cutest. Like a little white cotton ball. Look into them. You will fall in love.

A shih-tzu! They are energetic but calm and really fun! And they have hair, not fur so you can't be allergic to them. They are lap dogs too. They are sooo cute when the sleep and run... and they are cute no matter what hair cut they have! If you get one you should get one with a white spot on the head and white paws. Im allergic to my guniea pig and she sheds like crazy but I still kept her. You should get a dog that has short hair that will shed very very little like my Rottweiler.
