I don't worship the Virgin Mary. No Catholics do. That is a misconception that Protestant religions have of the Catholic Faith.

She was the woman used for the birth of Jesus, very blessed to be used by God as the mother of Jesus in the flesh. It pretty much ends there, she was human just like the rest of use, therefore, she sinned just as we all do.

- Some believe that Mary never sinned and although human they also believe that she can be an mediator (intercessor) between God and man. That is false doctrine, here's what the bible says on the issue:

1 TIMOTHY 2:5-6

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6 who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Well she was Jesus Christ birth mom.

Matthew 1:18 (Whole Chapter)
[ The Birth of Jesus the Messiah ] Now this is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

Luke 1:27 (Whole Chapter)
to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David.

Luke 1:34 (Whole Chapter)
Mary asked the angel, "But how can I have a baby? I am a virgin."

No, I believe in Jesus Christ who came from Virgin Mary. I believe that Virgin Mary is the most blessed among woman, but she is not an intercessor between man and God. Only Jesus Christ alone stands as the intercessor between man and God.

I agree with Casey M.
She was a girl of great faith, but just another girl nonetheless. I don't believe she hears prayers in heaven. There's nothing in the Bible that would indicate that at all.

Catholics believe in our Holy Mother, Mary.

She ascended into heaven Body and Soul, she never sinned.

We ask her to pray for us to God.

The Rosary is a Prayer specifically for her intercession.

We do not however worship her as God.

Peace!

Well, she was worthy of carrying Jesus in her womb. Then she gave birth to Jesus. Then she raised Him. Thats it. She was a virgin until after she had Jesus, after that, she had more kids w/ her husband Joseph.

Do I believe in her? Well, I believe she existed. I mean, she had to have, seeing that she gave birth to the Savior. But do I pray to her, or worship her? No. Thats a sin. It's breaking the 1st commandment.

hope that helped.
God bless you.

I believe the Virgin Mary is an archetype of many other spritual "virgins" indicative of the time period.

I'm not a Christian, and she's isn't "holy" to me...but as a spiritual woman I do honor that.
