All Margarita's are made with a Tequila base.. if they aren't then it's not a margarita.
1st 1-2 shots (depending on how strong you like it) of tequilla.
1shot = 1 1/2 oz.
Next a margarita mix, sold @ liquor stores. Jose Cuervo pre made margarita mix is best, but add more tequilla!
Sqeeze in fresh lime juice
Add Ice
& Blend in a blender or drink on the rocks!
YUM YUM
also it is optional to salt the rim of the glass

Add to taste..dont put too much sweet and sour and. the triple sec add the zing to it. Enjoy the drinks. For best results use a respesado tequilla.

the 1st poster got it right, but I do it without the extra sweetness provided by the lemon-lime soda. The Limeade has enough sugar in it for me.
Basically- the only way you can really mess it up is to use a pre-made margarita mix. They're all pretty vile.
It's best to have a blender that does a good job on the ice.

Frozen Margaritas
6-ounce can frozen limeade concentrate
6 ounces tequila
2 ounces triple sec
6 ounces lemon-lime soda
5 cups crushed ice
lime slices
margarita salt
Pour limeade concentrate, tequila, triple sec and soda into large plastic container, and stir to mix. Fill blender with 5 cups crushed ice. Add limeade mixture to ice in blender and blend until slushy. Pour into salt-rimmed Margarita glasses. Garnish with lime slices.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: Squeeze half a lime into a small dish with a flat bottom. Dip each glass into the lime juice and then into the margarita salt.

I get Jose Cuervo margarita mix and use that as the base. Add your tequila and a dash of triple sec and call it good. I like mine on the rocks (not frozen) with no salt - please
