Ok, I can't help on the place, but I can recommend a really good website for negotiating skills - it's "fire your wedding planner" hosted by this woman, Stephi Stewart (who is from CA and may have specific suggestions for you). You don't have to buy her book to get her emails and they're really helpful on cost cutting ideas - to avoid corkage fees, cake cutting fees, etc. or to find really inexpensive areas to get married. is there a public park or museum near you that might work? You'll get a much better deal.
