ahahahahaaa...you just had to ask.
because they blindly believe what the bible tells them, without realizing that the bible is a flawed document. written by men. who are fallible. and if the original language didn't denote sex...and they just happened to tweak it in later revisions to masculine...yeah. can you guess i'm not one of those women? and i don't believe in the bible at all in case you were wondering. it's a storybook. not an owners manual.

We refer to God as Father, Him, He, etc. because the original languages of the Bible did. We don't know God's gender. God created both male and female in His image. Females are not inferior to males, nor are males inferior to females. They are equal in the eyes of God.
But God did ordain specific roles for women and men. Men were ordained to be the leaders of the home and church. This doesn't make them superior to women in anyway. In fact, the type of leadership that the Bible refers to is leadership through humility. A man should be willing to put aside his wants and desire to meet the needs and wants of a woman, and the woman should do the same. It's not a domineering role, but a role of compassion and love.

I have never figured that out myself - don't women see that the idea of a male god, and a male saviour with 12 male apostles is nothing but a justification for patriarchy

He is neither male or female, he is a spirit. This is just how man has written the bible. We are just spirits house in these shells we call bodies so we can function on earth. When the Most High sees us, he sees the spirit. The word says that when we worship him, we should worship him in spirit and truth. We were created in his image (spirit).
