I am a bride to be and visited a David's Bridal in my area. I was dressed from head to toe and loved the unique shopping experience. I have never experienced great customer service like I received at David's Bridal. Anyone else have a story to share about their experience?

I had a wonderful experience in Albany, GA. My matron of honor and I were greeted at the door. Heather waited on me quickly. She made me feel at ease. Heather did everything possible to make me feel like a princess. Even in my blue jeans and crocs, I was made to feel as though it was a monumental occassion and that Heather was going to do everything possible to make my dress dream come true.

We were told that all sales are final BUT we were also told that if my bridesmaid continued to lose weight and needed another dress that if alterations had not been made, she could exchange the dress.

My matron of honor and she helped me pick out a beautiful dress. I couldn't be happier.

I think it depends on which David's Bridal you go to. I had a horrible experience when my friend was planning her wedding. She already had her wedding dress so it was just a matter of picking out the bridesmaid dresses. We spent the entire day together trying on dresses at different shops. We actually called David's Bridal in advance and gave them all the necessary information before showing up at the store. Service was horrible!

When we arrived we were told to look around and pick out some dresses - when we all agreed on a the color and style of the dresses the sales person said that they could not accommodate our needs in time for the wedding. I would not have a problem with this if we did not provide the date and other info in advance. So we were told that we could buy off the rack which did not work out either. Could not find similar dresses or dresses in the same color family. We wound up wasting so much time there! I will say that the consultants that were helping the brides-to-be did look like they were doing a good job and they did seemed happy.

Horrible.

1) They passed us off from girl to girl, and wouldn't help us make a selection.

2) They couldn't tell us if a (bridesmaid's) dress came in a certain color.

3) Too pricy for cheap quality.

4) They told us to "find" a bridal dress, but the selection was VERY 80's (big bows, poofy sleeves, etc) and they couldn't tell us which came in ivory.

5) They seemed like they didn't want to be there or help anyone. They would not help my best friend try on bridal dresses, so I had to figure out how all the layers went together.

I would not recommend anyone go there. We found a bride and bridesmaid's dresses of MUCH better quality for a comprobable price at a REAL bridal store.

I just returned from a David's bridal last week. First of all, yes they are all different. I went to the one in Harrisburg, Pa on a very busy Saturday afternoon. I had an appointment but still waited around a lot because my consultant had other clients. After trying on a few dresses and having my bridesmaids pick out a few, I made another appointment for three days later on a Tuesday evening. What a difference! No on was hardly there and my consultant gave me all the attention I needed. I ended up purchasing my dress, all acessories, flower girl dress for my daughter, and two of my bridemaids purchased their dress all that night. My recommendation: make appointments during the week, during work hours if possible. The stores are less crowded and you will definately have a better experience. I found their dresses to be reasonably priced as well.

When my best friend got married, we all bought our dresses at David's Bridal. A few months before the wedding, my friend kicked one of her bridesmaids out of the wedding and had to replace her. We figured there was no way David's Bridal would take the old bridesmaids dress back and exchange it for a smaller size, because they make it very clear, all sales are final. We figured we would have to alter this dress from a size 14 to a size 6! Well, when we took the dress in and asked if we could exchange it for another size, they were hesitant. Luckily, they had a size 6 there in the store and agreed to let us swap the 2 dresses out. It took a little begging and whining, but they were eventually extremely helpful and took care of everything.

When I went to David's Bridal in Olympia, Washington, in 2002 I was treated with alot of respect and the customer service was great!!
They helped me find the perfect wedding dress and gave me
other helpful tips for my wedding. My husband couldn't keep his eyes off of me when he saw me in that dress!!!! The prices were
really good. And I had a very beautiful wedding. (I re-married the same man I married the first time). When I put on that pretty white wedding dress, I felt like a queen. I loved my shopping experience a whole lot!! If I was ever to get married again,to someone else after my man passes away, I'd use David's Bridal again. I love my husband that I have now with all my heart, and wouldn't trade him for a million bucks. I've been re-married now happily for 4 years come October 2nd.

I agree with everything Laura K said about it being HORRIBLE! The one I visited was just terrible and I would never go there again. All my bridesmaids got the wrong dress and right before the wedding we had to order all new dresses. You get the same head-to-toe treatment at pretty much any bridal shop. David's Bridal doesn't care about anyone....they are so fake.

I drove from a small town in West Tenn. to Memphis to look for a wedding dress. I found a Davids Bridal store. My Mom and I went in. We picked out a few dresses in my size and when we were approached by one of the sales ladies, she very rudely asked us "If we had an appointment?" I looked at my Mom and we both said "NO!" She then proceeded to tell us that we have to have an appointment and by no means were we going to get one for that day, they were already booked up! I had money to spend in that store. I told the lady "Oh well, I guess I won't be spending my money here then!" She was a complete "B" I have never been treated like that in my life. I will never go into another Davids Bridal.

The whole concept of making an appointment to try on a wedding dress is stupid! I've told all my friends to never go to Davids Bridal!

I liked them a lot, they were friendly and very helpful. I have been back to get swatches and they have always been great! As I can see from above- they do not take returns as do NO other bridal store on earth. Why would people think you could return bridal stuff?? They order the dress and once ordered you can not cancel it. It was funny because I am a very friendly person and was chatting with the salepeople and they were telling me Bride horror stories! Girls throwing fits and lying about their sizes and trying to return worn dresses.... LOL It's like this- you get what you pay for.... David's bridal is a low to mid end store.... If you want to act like Paris Hilton then go to Vera Wang!!!

I think it depends on where the David's Bridal is. I'm from NY, so I went to the one on Long Island and had a horrible experience and vowed that I would never return. The sales people were rude, yelling at each other and other customers, I was kept waiting (despite having an appointment). Once I finally got an associate assigned to me, I shared her with two other clients.

Then I visited my mother in Williamsburg, VA and on a lark, we decided to go to David's Bridal, despite my prior bad experience. Well, the service coudln't have been better. The associate who helped me was patient, kind, understanding, unbelievable helpful. I found the perfect dress at that David's Bridal; however, I had no choice but to get it altered at the David's Briday up in NY - where the saga continued.

My advice, it depends on the area that you're in. But, I'm happy with the dress I bought and the store that I purchased it in.

Good luck!!

I hate David's Bridal. Here's why:

1. Your dress, even if "special ordered", is off the rack. The special order dresses are just transfered from a different store that has your size. Or, they convince you to pick a dress in your size, or a little higher, that they have in the store. They clean it and put all the loose beads back on, but I think they are way overpriced for a dress that's off the rack.

2. The salespeople lie about sizes, extra length, etc. in order to make you and your bridesmaids pay for extra material that then has to be altered with their seamstress.

3. On the paperwork, they canceled my friend's wedding order TWICE.

4. They are good at making you feel like a beautiful bride. This is how they get you to spend way too much money on their accessories, undergarments, shoes, veils, etc.

But, I know some people have had good experiences.
