because society tells you that you should always try to work things out with the child's parent, but sometime that's just impossible, and it might take a second round of unhappiness to prove it.

Sorry man, it sounds like you got the bad end of that relationship. A girl has a special relationship with the Father of her child. Even if it is a bad relationship and they don't see each other "that way". They still have child visitation so they are always going to be around together. There's no way out of it.
You really lucked out. Normally it's not a good idea to go with an unwed Mother. The child always comes first in her life anyway. You will always be low on her priority list. Just there to take care of her needs (financially, taking her out, having sex, being the responsible one), and she might throw you a bone occasionally to keep you interested.
There are plenty of fantastic women out there that would love to have a great guy like you on their arm. They would appreciate you a lot better too. So I hope that this ending doesn't depress you too much, and for too long, and that you will get out there and look for someone else very soon. Happy hunting.

a lot of times because they still have feelings for that person or is still in love. its good to work it all out for the child's sake, but you cant force anything thats there. the baby's mama probably think things have changed or want to believe things have changed

b cuz theyre idiots! young and nieve. its sad cuz they'll get hurt, and the child may also unless u convince them to come back.
